R/E/D is honestly kinda mid for me. The lyrics are kinda cringe. My Bitch was good though. Literally gave me goosebumps the first time i heard it. The title is pretty cringe though lol.
They need to put out more good headbanging songs again, the recent ones are pretty boring furi-wise
Agree about the title, considering the lyrics. As for the lyrics of Red, I think it’s too metaphorical, so might seem nonsensical. I didn’t understand the lyrics of LGWY until I found some pretty insightful explanations.
I’m looking forward to hearing it in the live context from the DVD, as I enjoy it more than i did when they shadow dropped it in January. I think if theyre gonna continue this path, then 1 or 2 songs a year isnt gonna keep their momentum going. I’m definitely in the league of the person who said “play more old songs live!”
Definitely the first dvd is still my favourite setlist wise but still do enjoy watching their dvds generally. Still need to get the latest couple. Got most up to this point so may as well keep up. Haha.
Thinking about it, I really miss that they didn’t do that let’s sing together thing with Satoshi from girugamesh, especially that I find their voices somewhat similar.
as i had a hunch, it’s got AI all over it.
it’s a shame, the scenes that aren’t AI i absolutely love. lime dissecting a wooden shinto statue in a spaceship speaks to me.
the overall theme of the MV is also really cool, but again, done with AI so it just ends up looking like crap, even without the moral questions. i suppose of the vkei AI music videos this looks the least crappy, but still.
i do really also like how lime’s braids and coat-thingie looks like the cthulhu-abomination later in the video.
i’m also 99% sure that the video is helmed by Hiroyuki Kondo (the guy who’s done almost all of dir en grey’s MVs). he also did deviloof’s newest MV which is littered with the similar looking AI garbage.
