Always nice to see Kizu fans in the wild.

Maybe Japanese bands love AI so much because 愛.

I just thought about it again as Kizu’s new MV released today - isn’t it really surprising (or rather disappointing) that everything with Kyo has so terrible AI? Both DeG and Sukekiyo’s recent music videos are so bad - especially Sukekiyo, they have completely lost it with their last one. Absolutely awful (and no I am not talking about the beard guy I don’t care, I just mean the AI in general).
The kyo-team must have money as they are so successful (at least more than other vk bands), but why do their music videos look so terrible?

The AI in Kizu’s music video is so much better and refined, and they definitely don’t have as much money… Why… The Kyo-team has just hired the wrong people?

kizu are freewill’s current grailed cashcow; sukekiyo are on a beloved domestic act levels of promoting, some of their videos are very artful, some are very lackluster

deg hit a bottom so low around 2008 with no AI involved (red soil video, zan remake PV, etc) I kinda expect them to always toss a bit of caca if they don’t feel inspired, or money gets tight; those AI videos they release now look about as pointless as sustain the untruth PV that had basically live footage and some random video clip art clashing together.

they occupy promotional space and that’s just it.

You really like the Kizu AI better? I could barely watch it… the AI “look” is way to obvious for me. It clashes way to much with the real footage.

On another note:
This Diru MV with the questionable GGI always looked tacky to me but compared to the AI videos … It’s not that bad anymore…

And the worst thing is, I am not really convinced these AI nightmares are really cheaper … they still pay people to do these.

I prefer IA of The Devil In Me to the infamous visual mush of 「R/E/D/」 very frankly. In my opinion, it’s more coherent and much better used.

there can be an art in effectively cutting costs for MVs (like in those making of extras on DVDs of movies they always love to talk about those), there is no art in replacing the artistic process in whole meaningful sequences completely what you do by using AI.

one thing I find funny about those AI gimmick music videos is how often those are only “weird ghost things in a glass display case”

Yeah, I see what you mean. AI can definitely speed up the process, but there’s no excuse for not putting in some extra effort on the details. The two arms thing is pretty glaring, and it just pulls you out of the experience. It’s not about hiring a huge team of artists—sometimes a little post-editing and some attention to the details can make a huge difference. It’s those small things that make the work feel more polished and engaging. AI can be a great tool, but it shouldn’t replace basic craftsmanship and attention to quality. Hopefully, they’ll put more thought into the final product next time!

I just found this band. They take AI to whole new level. Not only MV but even members are made by AI.

This is sooo bad :joy: the guitarist does not even touch the strings, there is no keyboard sound when the keyboard guy is shown and there not a trace of the singing being in sync with the lips. It would be funny if making this wouldn’t have wasted a shit ton of energy…

Quick reminder every normalisation of AI in VK will also normalise the replacement of the musicians trough AI entirely in the scene.

Why will media companies be necessary in a world where any individual can create media of the same standard?
