aki passed away on August 29 after being hospitalized for a sudden illness on the 18th.
I’m in shock. Laputa was one of the first jrock bands I ever listened to 19~20 years ago. They made me fall in love with Japanese music. Easily one of my favorite vocalists. I had always hoped Kouichi would return from retirement and the band would reunite, but now it’s not mean to be.
Thank you aki for all the great music over the years.
Horrible news So sudden, and he was so young. He remained dedicated to his craft until the very end (despite his output being very confidential). Rest in peace.
Oh my god, no… he was one of my absolute favourite vocalists from the 90s era. Such a wonderful man and voice forever lost and way too young… terrible.
