Vigor was def one of the more interesting/weird releases for me too. I remembered it being having poppy/rock elements that some songs it worked for while others made me think “interesting i guess”

“Craziness” is the word I am missing for them and you are so right lol.
I can see where the albums/songs could have been hit or miss. They had a main core theme but sometimes maybe over-used this theme to some or when experimenting it was just a miss? They are honestly more fascinating because of this for me, but they had so much material right?!?!?!?! Holy crap. Agreed on your point on Vigour listening to the album straight through can be a craziness of emotions not so linear like a story right? But there really are gems on that album. Almost like it was secretly a “hits” album in some ways.. God they really were crazy and I love it.

Maybe Ryoga’s previous bands affected this diverse palette? I must do digging on those olds bands!!!
Tbh not much. Renny Amy is basically old school born but more 2000s sounding and D&L is basically born’s old name.
Fun fact born Courtship which is on thier best album is actually a Renny Amy song but re-recorded.
I havent listened to anything else besides those. His other older bands releases are pretty much rarez

I will checkout on youtube and various sources if I like then buy the CDs.
I think I have over 500 now
I rip the CDs as lossy as possible and play them through an audiophile set up
Then I blast my ears off with boujee expensive headphones. It is glorious
Absolutely butchered this but BORN had some gems. I can’t think of a RAZOR song like Innocent Bullet.
I’m almost convinced that though the instrumentals weren’t as technical, Ryoga’s melodies hit harder at times.
