BUCK-TICK new single RAIJIN FUUJIN - RESONANCE 11/20 & new album スブロサ SUBROSA 12/4 announced

I like it. The twin vocals in the chorus are a lot of fun. I don’t think this song, or the album, will change the minds of people who say they should quit, but I think they still have something left in the tank.

It sounds good but it doesn’t feel right. It also doesn’t look right. They appear so lost in the PV lacking in presence and too spread out without the frontman. I kinda wish they went for a replacement.

I’m just here for the cool Imai vibes, so far I’m satisfied (it’s not an instant earworm song for me at this point but it’ll probably be nice in the album’s context). Also bonus points for the video~

I don’t think the first song (or album) without Acchan was ever going to feel or look “right”. I kinda like that they did not try to cover it up either. Imai and Hide singing on their respective sides while leaving the center empty feels purposeful here.

The vocals definitely aren’t anything to write home about but everyone, them included, knew that there was no replacing Sakurai. Factoring that in I don’t know if having a new singer would really be any better at this point. Maybe in the future they might have guest vocalists for some songs or even whole albums but I doubt they would ever get someone new to be a permanent part of the band.

Please, hire a professional singer. Hidehiko’s voice is not that bad but Imai, this carnage. I can’t imagine that on a complete album.

It’s not like we didn’t have at least one or two songs with lead vocals by Imais in every single album. Nothing out of the expected here to be honest

The song is fun, I don’t have anything to complain here as an Imai Enjoyer ™️

It absolutely is intentional, knowing that I still think it’s a bad call.

This is probably the best middle ground.

It all seems too soon and not properly thought out imo.

One or two songs per album, it’s still listenable. More is an overdose. I really like Imai and all his work on Buck-Tick compositions but damn, her voice on an entire album, this potential torture.

Absolutely. He probably could afford some singing lesson. It feels he doesnt know how to place his voice

ohh I love it, thanks! ‘love’ of course in the sense that I would’ve loved it way better if Sakurai was alive and it’s unavoidable to imagine how this would sound in his voice but all things considered this is B-T flavored for sure, glad they seem to be doing ‘well’ despite feeling this lack we’re all feeling listening to this but more intensely for like the past 400 ish days … not sure this is gonna be a top tier album for me but I mean SSL isn’t either it’s not like they didn’t have ‘hmm’ experimental albums that felt a little awkward as they were transitioning into new eras lol all things considered I am happy this feels as it feels they are good

I like it. I like it more if I close my eyes or look away while the video plays. That PV is not that appealing. Ugly outfits and just awkward looking all around with the way that was shot.

It does make me curious how they’ll handle their classics moving forward. Are they going to be able to pull off singing Miu, Angelic Conversation, Sakura, Misshitsu, or Jupiter, etc.

I still wish they got Sheena Riingo the main singer, as farfetched as it sounds

And as my motive, I leave you with these 3 minutes of Atsushi and Sheena moaning at each other like two cats in heat

The single hasn’t caught my attention. Not because of the vocals, but because of the song itself.
We’re going to wait for the album, but I’m sad. I think this isn’t going to work and they’re going to continue doing concerts with Atsushi’s recorded vocals.
As I said, I think the best thing would be to do some concerts and albums with guest singers and that’s it.

Apart from the single, I have a question.

I’m watching a lot of concerts from the 2010-2023 era of BT and I see that Atsushi is always looking at the teleprompter to see the lyrics.
It seems normal to me to look at it from time to time, but if you notice, he looks at it for every verse of every song he sang. Did he have some memory problem? Or did he just not rehearse what he was going to sing? It’s very strange to me. I’ve seen other artists use it, but nobody with such a need.

I’ve never paid attention to Sakurai’s usage of it, but Shuuji Ishii from cali gari is another singer who is notoriously glued to the prompter a lot of the time. I wouldn’t assume much from it.

made me laugh a lot more than Id like to admit and I don’t even know the song originally … thanks for this

but nah that’s probably natural when you are 50 and have been putting out an album every 2 years for the past 20 plus years lol I wouldn’t be able to remember my lyrics either
