BUCK-TICK: vocalist Atsushi Sakurai has passed away

Love and death, meeting and parting
Love and death, don’t forget it

DANCE! DANCE! HA! HA! REMEMBER TO DIE!

Boys and girls! Tonight, eat and dance the night away
Life is love and death
Boys and girls, baby don’t cry, it’s all right
Oh yeah, life is love and death

I saw people posting RIP late last night and didn’t want to believe it. He was a true legend right to the very end.

Oh my god, that’s horrible. I’m speechless. Shocked. May he rest in peace and condolences to the family and band.

RIP the sex God of vk :frowning:
I’m imagining him with Hide up in Rock Heaven jamming with Kami and Jasmine You. T_T

Absolutely devastating, figured they’d be around another decade at least. Fuck.

Dude… I was never really into Buck-Tick, but this is devastating regardless. Atsushi was so iconic and influential, the type of person that you can’t imagine ever passing away. May he RIP.

We’ve lost a lot of vk greats this year.

I’m at work now. Still can’t process what I read last night. It hurts too much.
It makes me feel a little better, seeing the love BT is getting in here. I was under the impression people didn’t like them as much. Glad to be wrong.
I’m glad I have a community to share this heartbreak with.
I wanted to share one of my favorite of Aachan’s most emotional performances.

This song came right to my head when I read the news. It’s even more personal to me because I’ve also lost my mother this year to cancer. Now I can’t believe Atsushi Sakurai is gone too…
This hurts bad.

Devastated, he was one of my all-time faves. Only got to see him live once, at the 2014 DIQ. I genuinely believed BT were going to be one of those bands like the Rolling Stones that continued playing into their 80s. First Issay, now him. I still can’t believe it. RIP Atsushi

What a great loss.

I hope that the BUCK-TICK band will continue to perform and produce music after the change of members.
