The lyrics are litteraly about their comeback. BRILLIANT
Already one of my top D’espa songs. Everything about it is perfect. The heavy parts are intense and that chorus is soaring into my bloodstream.
Pretty sure they’ll be adding more dates to that world tour as the days go by.
Also, can we talk about how frickin’ good these guys look? Damn, so cool.
god FUCKING DAMN this has got me so amped. The studio version sounds much fuller than the live version (no surprise). That chorus is so good and Hizumi’s voice sounds like it hasn’t changed at all. The boys haven’t lost their touch at all.
I have to say that the MV song did… no I’ll just be quiet and say HAPPY FOR THE FANS this time! You waited long!
They are indeed back!
Yes, I think/hope so too. I don’t think they’d call it a world tour otherwise.
The MV gave me Redeemer vibes, it’s so weird, I love it haha
I am so obsessed already. This song is just too good!
The chorus with that atmospheric guitar makes me feel like im cloud surfing
that’s what i am so impressed with. i remember so vividly being in a panic years ago thinking hizumi would never be able to sing again. i feel like i just rewound myself to nearly 20 years ago, this is so surreal ![]()
A good song for a comeback, but not exceptional either. Personally, I think the euphoria of their return plays a big part in all the enthusiasm surrounding this song/ PV. ![]()
Had the song stuck in my head the whole day. It’s So extremly catchy. Ok from time to time it changed between Rapture and Horizon. But it was a very DéspairsRay Day.
Ive listened to it at least 100 times today
Definitely gonna cover it
Same! Ever since the live it’s been a rotation of kamikaze, horizon and rapture. Even as I sleep lol.
I do think there’s a little bit of truth to that; there’s bound to be extra hype being given to it due to how long it’s been, but I still think it’s a decent enough track regardless.
I reckon if they hadn’t disbanded and this had come out not long after MONSTERS, it still would have gotten a generally positive reception with people being cautiously optimistic for the next album.
I think my only slight gripe is that the chorus is leaned on a bit too heavily. I think they could have varied that a bit more, but still, I’m excited to hear more from them.
Song is good. I haven’t been replaying it as much as others but it’s gotten some time from me. It’s Hizumi that makes this track for me - the instrumentals alone aren’t enough. That’s why I never followed any of the other members’ other projects while D’espairsRay was disbanded. He’s singing a little lower but it’s nice to have him back and not hear him struggle.
There’s tabs already available on Songsterr. Apparently the song is in Drop A#. We haven’t been this low since Kaleidoscope. I wonder if we will see more of this going forward.
It’s your typical, average, VK “heavy” song. Poppy chorus, verse progression that’s been done 1000 times over, and that’s basically it.
It’s also the same old thing the band’s been doing their whole career. Which, I guess if you’re a fan of them, that’s a good thing.
I think most of us fans who are ecstatic about the song are just glad the band is alive again. Especially given how things previously ended with Hizumi having voice issues and potentially not being able to sing. It’s encouraging just hearing him sing like he used to.
The criticism against the single is all valid. It’s not a phenomenal track and far from their best work. But I personally still enjoy it and think it’s actually a step up from their Monsters era.
I’m treating this more as a warm up though and hoping they have more in store for us.
sounds like a solid convergence between what i liked about their earlier more metallic/industrial material mixed with the melody forward approach of their later material. didn’t expect to be this hyped on a new despa song in 2026 but it sounds like the band i remember if not a lot more enjoyable (to me) than much of the back half of their discography
