Keisuke and Daiki have been performing together for over a decade and Ray has been performing with them since 2017. I’d hardly consider that Keisuke’s solo project. I know you were probably joking but come on.
honestly I would be interested how a case like this works, would the only person who has to pay the damage be the composer, because he stole works from another, or would every member be included of the band at that time, and afterwards. would it be paid by the budget of the band itself or by the members themselves? and etc etc
Forgot about that one! Not sure i ever did listen to it, will do that sometime! Cheers for the heads up. ![]()
Why bassist? Daiki is still there and doing it fine for what they play
Maybe I got confused. Was aisaku guitar or bass? Either way, losing him was a big blow and this one is a gut punch. Waiting to see how they recover.
Wasn’t he rhythm?
All this while Aisaku is living his best life seeing all the tech death bands he loves in concert.
Love Kanta and this was unexpected, really wondering how they will bounce back. Quickly lost momentum and they had a cancelled event/show in europe too no?
Kinda wish they’d release (or play with the idea) more experimental stuff sporadically than another year or so just for a single song.
Damn, that is really unfortunate.
I had tickets for their show where I live, the Netherlands, during their EU tour. But they cancelled that show.. And now this.
damn
I am generally feeling like this EU tour won’t go down well… there are still premium and VIP tickets available for their german shows so yeah🤷♂️ not looking too good
Their late work is pretty weak if you compare songs (Song For The Weak vs DESTINATION for the “trying to have a bit of VK sound”, 因習 and its awful guitar sound and nonsense vocals when 拷訊惨獄 was a far better and more coherent song, False Self being a cheap ripoff of Dusky Vision, …)
And they can’t compete successfully on the extreme sound after Seiya’s departure. They had and have their highlights but… pls resign after the EU tour.
tbh i feel like that’s because they have 3 dates in germany, and thats a bit much, no? if theyd decide on one, they’d sell out
You’re right, that is probably the case. I just feel bad for the guys if they end up playing in front of 20-30 people…
I’m armchair musicologisting(??) here but i think their third album might have done them in
By their second i thought they were getting a lot of traction & interest for being like 75% metal 25% vkei - the opposite of the usual for our scene; pulling vkei tropes into deathcore instead of the other way around. In a sense i think there was a lot of deliberate provocation keeping them relevant, imho epitomized by Aisaku with his taser and lean. Maybe newspeak was the last time (according to this argument) they were acting as fully themselves; it was nearly no vkei sound, just a Kabuki segment before the drop. I love the song artistically/musically, so i don’t mean to sound too cynical, but that’s also an excellent hook for YouTube react types to ![]()

at in their thumbnails.
Then album 3, i can understand the resistance to softening and casualizing throughout one’s discography, especially for a band known almost exclusively for shocking confrontational (within their scene…) heaviness and being The Most _____. It’s not bad music, it’s a perfectly good album, but it’s just a good deathcore album, which there’s no shortage of. There’s no twist, no hook, no “it’s this BUT” like their first two albums. So they purified towards heaviness enough that they had to set their identity aside. I don’t know if this is ACTUALLY when everyone was leaving but around this album i start having no idea who’s in the band (ty sume for the correction lol).
Eh i feel like an asshole giving a currently touring band a post-mortem like this but one way or another, it’s a different band called Deviloof now than back then. I still check out their releases and don’t find them necessarily lacking like, musically - and i’d quite love to be proven wrong with a single / album that launches then back to relevance with many releases to follow…
I just can’t help but want to speculate like this bc they’re a really atypical band with no peers whose career can be learned from, imho
Bro you got me fuxked up I was looking for double cups and promethazine in all his photos and only found the taser video lol
I could be misremembering but iirc he took a down a while after posting - i’m not the only one who remembers this riiiiight?
You’re not the first. Seiya (ex-DEVILOOF) & copyright - #34 by TheZigzagoon ![]()
