DIMLIM will disband

Im speaking for the Brazilian company - who was managing the tour and selling to other countries. My friend is close to the promoter and said that they paid some part of the fee in advance but the band didn’t return - instead, Retsu just ghosted them. They had to take money from their own pocket to refund the tickets.

No there’s actually literally no way that they could sue the website for a plethora of reasons. First of all the band would have to go to the country where this sites servers or owners are located in order to even do a proceeding because there’s no such thing as International trials especially for something small like this. They couldn’t Sue from Japan and you know they don’t have the money to go spend a year in the US or whatever other country to go sue somebody over a database page.

Not to mention everything that the website reported is public information and there is no copyright claims being made on it and no monetary gain being made on it either meaning that even their photos could freely be left up. I have absolutely no idea why the site decided to delete the page but they have zero moral or legal obligations to do so and I personally think it’s incredibly weird to delete data from a database and to entertain a band demanding something like that when they have zero standing to do it.

The reason why the Japanese database is not deleted is because even a Japanese band requesting a Japanese site within Japan to delete the data has zero legal standing to do so so you can just imagine for a site that isn’t even in the same country.

As far as I recall I am pretty sure what happened is that the South American promoter sold tickets that were then canceled because of Coronavirus and the Border being closed, and then rescheduled the shows without getting any confirmation from the band about the band being able to attend. While obviously the band should have stayed communicative about when to reschedule the shows, rescheduling and announcing the event as well as adding dates that the band never agreed to AKA that anime type convention that the promoter had planned without even asking the band
if they were okay with doing it wasn’t exactly going to be the way to get the band to play along.

If I remember correctly they were trying to use dimlim as the only pull for that convention and yet hadn’t even discussed it with them. From what I heard that’s the reason the company was ghosted.

I dunno what is the truth behind it. Whether they’re trying to pretend dimlim didn’t exist because of cringe syndrome, or for legal reasons or internal beef. All I know is that they had something legendary going - whether or not you’re a fan of their sound and pre-essencial visuals.

So it just sucks that they want to scrub it all away. Many vk bands work their ass off for years without ever making such a big impact, and so many musicians simply grow out of their flashier phase without making a big deal out of it, which makes me think that for dimlim it must be more than just a reaction to cringe syndrome. idk.

I feel like Dimlim did the Lycaon to Initial or Anli Pollicino to Kyokuto romance, went from great to “WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?”

I actually liked the last phase of dimlim a lot. Everything from Rijin on out and I loved misc.

They were terrible businessmen but I didn’t see any mishandling in their rebranding.

ETA Except calling anything The Essence. That was unfortunate.

I agree that Misc. was a really good piece of work. The main issue, which I really do understand and sympathise with fans, is that it alienated everyone who knew them as a visual deathcore band. They went from deathcore to poppy-indie math rock, you can’t expect a fan base who appreciated one style to appreciate something that’s completely different. Everything down to the vocals were vastly different!

Agree with this 100%. I’m the kind of person who will enjoy musical artists most when they experiment and change, but I realize I’m in the minority on that. Most folks were justifiably upset with MISC. Personally, I listen to MISC more than their early stuff now. So if they did decide to come back with that sound, I’d be thrilled.
