In general. The band only had 2 years where they actually toured a lot: 2007 (121 shows) and 2009 (96 shows). And by “a lot” I mean: a lot for a Japanese band.
Other than those 2 years, they average 40 shows / year which is less than 1/week. That’s not a heavy tour schedule, that’s actually pretty light. They’ve always had a light tour schedule; but that appears to be a quality of Japanese bands in general.
Even a group like Baby Metal, who are vastly more popular than Dir en grey, average 31 shows/year. One OK Rock averages 46, and Crossfaith (who have roughly the same level of popularity as Dir en grey) average 45.
Bands in the West typically have much heavier touring schedules by a rather wide margin.
Well, we can say for sure that there’ll be one more single before any new album, right?
It only comes down to the timing of announcement and release. Either it will be announced at the first live, which is -a knot- only anyway. Or at the tour final.
In any case, I’m fairly certain that it will debut during the tour at least, no matter when the release announcement will be.
And either the single or the album will be called “THE MORTAL”.
PHALARIS tours were the album name with -Vol.I-, -Vol.II-, or FINAL afterwards.
THE MORTAL could very well be a full-length album that follows this same format (albeit with ‘chapters’).
Revealing the album name in this way is somewhat out of the ordinary for the band, as they’ve fallen into a predictable pattern since UROBOROS era (2007-2008).
Alternatively, each chapter might have a different name, with the implied ‘book’ being the as-yet unknown album title.
@NowhereGirl 's “each chapter” theory fits this observation very well. The most likely thing is that the next album/single will have a “thematic” title perhaps something along the lines of demons, hell, mortality, whatever (or maybe even in Latin like what sukekiyo is doing).
I hope Kyo doesn’t bring his pink “i am a gurl” style to DeG’s next release, because I see him with it in all his recent pictures. Its ok to be a gurl but I feel we are so close to all the projects starting to blend together.
The point is that he is going for the pink-style, and might even go for a little gurl in DeG as well. Well we have to wait and see but I personally wouldn’t be a fan of it
looks p close to his phalaris looks around album release
that sukekiyo look is probably his finest trolling in a long long time so idk why the negative response??
I’m not sure what’s going on with the last picture, but at least his japanese deg concert/tour looks have the artistry other acts don’t bring in anymore, even if I’m not a fond of what I’m seeing there
