OMG KOKOMI…SHES SO UNDERRATED …literally love her voice and the way she writes her lyrics…i would actually addfuki from unlucky morpheous and i dont know her name but the girly from existtrace to this list they both are soo phenomenal with voice control
Sorry to post after long time to this thread, But i haven´t seen -KUROYOUBI- mentioned here so here they are. They should have female vocalist.
Definitely seconding this!
kehre. is an indie band based in Tokyo. Their vocalist, Kara, has a great lower register. From my understanding, she adopted this style because some of their songs are from Rinna’s (guitarist) old band, that had a male vocalist. Unfortunately, my Japanese is way too mediocre to confirm this.
oh hey no one else mentioned アカシジア i think!
they only have two tracks out but i wish they had ten albums more. it’s not the exact same but personally i think they’re the closest i’ve heard to old exist-trace.
based on the writing of these two & their preferences in mixing, new as they were, i think with only a few more releases they could easily have shaped up as a real rival / continuation to that old sound
Good small band they made. Vocalist of licker is the same. They were good while they lasted
I honestly have quite a few bands I like, but one I have been listening to alot recently is クロイツ! Nagi from 螺旋 is on vocals.
Not vkei but, Kokeshi!
Nana is incredible
From vk, JYO of exist†trace stay the female singer i like the most with NENE of AMADEUS. Outside vk, Kuroneko from Onmyo-za.
Tricot! they have some incredible music
Haku.
These have been mentioned on other parts of the forum before, but putting them here for posterity’s sake. They are very much among my current favorites:
eleanor (gothic metal)
のろゐみこ (Noroimico) (wafuu / VK)
Anza from Headphones President - She’s got a very powerful voice imo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Piyg-tsdVA
