First Visual Kei festival in Paris will be held (10 bands, July 11-12)

I decided the same actually.

I will already be travelling to Cologne to see Lyrica with my sister around the same time too. I would do almost anything to see Versailles live just once, as they were my first band back in 2018, but this also sounds like so much of a hassle and so chaotic, that I would rather wait for them to play again in Japan and go to a concert there. At least in Japan you are more certain that people will not be pushing and pulling on each other.

Back during Kamijo’s Europe tour in 2024 I bought the extra expensive VVIP ticket, showed up early and got a number to stand in front row (saizen). Then by the end of the concert, some kid pushed themselves towards front row and nearly fully covered me up when the band took the audience photo. They told me they got pushed by other people towards the spot, but I do not believe them.
I just expect this festival to be a big mess of Tiktok teens pushing each other around and fighting to get closer to the stage in any way they can. I do not feel that spending a lot of money on a trip to Paris will be worth standing somewhere in the back looking at the back of peoples heads.

I’m going to the concert alone too! I bet there will be a meet up. Literally the only person I’m close to irl that knows vk is my 4 year old son lmao

I really, really hope there won’t be that many fans like that attending. I know this will be super annoying to me and I’m not used to kids like that.
Maybe the banning of filming and taking photos will keep them away.
Just hoping for the best

People in the front rows will probably push (depending on the bands), but there is still the seats and back of the standing area available people.

I swear when you free yourself of the “I need to be close to the stage” mentality, you’ll have WAY more fun at concerts, and will not believe how much you stressed over nothing.

But to each their own.

I don’t think there are a lot of people in this forum with that mentality.

Because we are old and learn our lessons the hard way.

In 2005 I waited 24h in front of a venue and didn’t get in the front row.

I don’t understand people who are so stressed about their spot in the line because of the m&gs.

I’ll go on a limb here and say any kind of pushing and shoving won’t be occurring. I haven’t seen anything like it at European vk shows on the continent since like 2009 (if even then, to be quite honest with you) and I saw Gazette and Dir en grey, arguably the biggest bands to come over, in multiple different countries. Crowds in London for example are more physical, but everyone’s in on it and it isn’t about getting to the front but rather just moving to the music. The vast, vast majority of the attendance will just be standing and nodding in place

Jupiter 2014 in Cologne was the only concert I attended that was noticeable in that regard. But I am not that familiar with what the current-day crowd is like.

B7 posted an Instagram story: 50% of the venue sold out in the first few hours

Sounds like a good start. I think slow ticket sale was the biggest risk for this festival.

As a visual fan, them selling 50% out in the first few hours is great news. I’m so excited for everyone who gets to go!

I am sorry you had a bad experience  In my experience with western crowds you never know what you will get. I was pretty far back for Kamijo in Helsinki so it was chill and in London people around me were very nice and respectful. In NYC last year we were all a big family even though people cut the line while in LA people were almost fighting :face_with_peeking_eye:

I agree so much. I only really care about being at the front for Kamijo and for everyone else I am happy to be at the back. Even for K I am always just happy to be there, I have had awful numbers in Japan multiple times but it is still amazing :heart_hands:

I think I would have been the same way when I was younger so I kind of get it, even though it feels so silly now :face_with_hand_over_mouth: I am more worried the M&Gs will be a huge mess. There will be ao many people that either the tickets will be fought over insanely hard or it will be a k-pop style walk by and I really, really don’t want to experience that :face_with_peeking_eye:

I am happy the initial sale went this well, my biggest worry was that there couldn’t be enough interest and they might have to cancel :face_with_peeking_eye:

Man embarrassing, I’m not surprised. Hyde & VAMPS were by far the worst concerts I ever attended in LA for this reason.

i have been to kpop concerts in LA where people were fighting and pissing themselves so they didn’t miss their spot in line. the good ol’ days  i’m sure this event will be fine!

Im used to much rowdier metal crowds so vkei shows aren’t really anything rowdy. Only time I’ve ever really felt squished was at The Last Rockstars in LA, those Yoshiki fangirls do not play about him lol.

Damn I really wish I could make this work. LAX to Paris plus tickets and hotel for me and my wife would be putting me close to $3k and I just ain’t got that.

I hope it goes well for everyone. Sounds like it’ll be a blast. I hope one day I can attend a European show and meet some jrockone homies

In Tokyo now, at Maverick company.

We were warmly received by Mucc and Kizu CEOs and managers. Both bands seem super happy to be part of the festival. They received a lot of messages from EU fans thanking them for their participation.

Thanks everyone. Things are moving.

wdym “things are moving” though? this sounds like they don’t even have contracts :smiling_face_with_tear:

Of course they do. Pretty sure he’s talking about the 10th band, they’re supposed to announce the voting this month, so they must be busy with Hévn/the venue in Tokyo/the labels/etc.

Are you their spokesperson? lol how would you know?

Do you really think they bands would let them announce a festival without being contracted? Lmao

They’ll probably looking into bringing more bands but that doesn’t have tobbe for this festival necesairly
