First Visual Kei festival in Paris will be held (10 bands, July 11-12)

Who knows.

I don’t think it’s for a new tour as they specifically posted it as news for the festival and mentioned MUCC and Kizu. Not sure what else they’d be referring to. Maybe it was just a catchword without deeper meaning whatsoever lol

I don’t think “things are moving” is refering to Mucc and Kizu in the first place. It’s a new paragraph after thanking everybody, so it’s most likely refering to overall organization moving forward.

The bands official accounts reposted the annoucements, no way they’d be doing this without proper contracts.

Since they need to organize the contest in Japan, they surely just took the opportunity to talk details with Mucc and Kizu management and most of this is probably business politeness anyway.

No I’m not their spokesperson, It’s just common sense lmao Just like @CervaCannibale and @Heyt said, there’s no way in hell they’d announce all that (and having the band repost it) without everything being set.

And since they’re most likely in Japan for the 10th band/set up the live event/livestream, why wouldn’t they meet with everyone?

Haha yeah, that’s exactly what I was wondering. No need to feel attacked all the time by normal comments

“2 days ago, we were invited to discover a band called CHAQLA live in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.

It was a nice show, and the band would love to discover Europe.

What do you think?

Wouldn’t they be an interesting contender for the festival contest?

Please show them your support and love!”

Still in :japan:!

Who remembers my friend DJ Sisen?
So many years since the last time he rocked Europe — especially when he was the DJ for the crazy TOKYO DECADANCE parties.

Who would like to see him DJ at Arena Grand Paris from doors open until the first band?

Ahhhh the nostalgia!

very random pick IMO, he is only known in the very underground club scene and old school cyber goths, but nice for the Tokyo decadance shout out!

Not really. Maybe if you are younger, you’d assume that, but back in 2007 he was very popular within the VK scene too. Makes sense on a 2007 nostalgia festival.

However, I’d see him replace those two random Russian/British and French bands haha

Yeah, maybe I didn’t write it that clearly, but I mean today, no new vkei fans know him unless they know bands related to the decadance or Jp industrial scenes.

I can connect the dots from the nostalgia point of view, but not adding to the tone of the festival, musically speaking. his sets are more for a rave in the woods or a 4 am after-party.
They should use the time of the warm up bands to an actual after party, jk.

I prefer another, more well-known band. I’m not interested in them… sorry.

Maaan, seeing DJ Sisen brought memories back. I forgot he existed at some point but he was everywhere back in the day or at least It felt like that to me. Maybe I’m just creating falsme memories due to nostalgia.

Sisen!! He is the sweetest cutest boi I’ve ever met. Looking forward to his set

Trying to work out where in Paris to stay. Anyone know what the logistics for getting to and fro to the venue is like? According to google maps and Île-de-France Mobilités it looks like 2 night buses and lots of walking to get into Central Paris anytime after 10pm.

I plan on staying near the Airport, as the venue isn’t terribly far away from CDG, but this will be my first time in Paris, so that decision may or may not be the best.

Depends what you plan to do during your stay besides attending the festival. The thing to realise is that it is not in Paris but in a distant suburb. It’s further from central Paris than say, central Tokyo to Saitama Arena. That said, staying near the airport or the venue could make sense as public transport from there to Paris may not be great at night nor so safe (source: I’m French and I lived in Paris for some 15 years)

Thanks for confirming this. I would prefer to stay in more central areas that I know. Guess I’ll just have to grab a taxi. Any taxi/ ride hailing app you’d recommend?

That’s my plan, too :slightly_smiling_face:
And I’m also questioning if this is better than staying more central.

I’m staying at the CitizenM outside Charles-Des-Gaulles. There are a bunch of hotels outside the terminals and there’s a direct bus from there to the arena (or at least the closest bus stop to the arena: rue de sausset). The hotels may be a bit pricey, but they offer pretty good comfort and proximity. Especially for those of us who are flying in.
