Hello hello!

Hello everyone! I thought I should write an introduction post after lurking for a long while. I’ve only recently made an account after reading JRO like the morning newspaper for the past year or so.

I’ve been a fan of J-rock for a little while now. My mum’s friend was very into L’Arc from their inception, and one of the times I overheard her talking about them with my mum, I caught the name of the band and looked them up. I watched the opening animation for the Fullmetal Alchemist movie, set to “Link” by L’Arc-en-Ciel, and I thought it was the most perfect song I had ever heard. The rest, as they say, is history.

I haven’t been around as long or been as involved online as many of you have, but I was fairly active on LiveJournal in its heyday.

I grew up and lived most of my adult life in rural USA; as a result, I’ve rarely attended concerts. Most of the concertgoing experience I have had is from when I lived in Sapporo. I now live on the west coast USA— hoping to get myself down to Cali see Fukuro this summer!

Favorite bands: L’Arc-en-Ciel, Sid, DaizyStripper, Shellmy, UNiTE, Arlequin (or however they’re writing it now), DADAROMA (rip :()

Favorite albums:
Dune or Heart - L’Arc
Renai or Outsider - Sid
Gaia - Janne da Arc
Stanczyk - DADAROMA
Tragus - Daizy
Utopia - Arlequin
Heisei 32 nenhe. - Shellmy

I tend to listen and re-listen to my faves, so lately I’ve been trying to expand my horizons and get caught up with what’s been going on with new and active bands in the scene. I made myself a Spotify playlist based on the “best albums” thread here on JRO to educate myself, but I’d certainly appreciate any band, album, or song recommendations you have!

Nice to meet you.
