Around 6th grade, i discovered Oz detox and Kiryu’s mugen houyou and from there the descent was gradual. Didn’t think I’d still love it as much as i did then when it was new to me. Youtube to mp3 and 4shared were goated in having exactly what i was looking for then which was just more vk.
I discovered the genre in 7th! We are very similar, hehe

I can almost check that 20+ box with my about 19 years of being into vkei. I kind of stopped actively following the scene around 2013 for reasons that probably were complex but mostly had to do with my life falling apart in general. Only really got out of bed when Kamijo came around.
Figured some stuff out, got a bit better and got to a point where I slowly started remembering how much music once meant to me around 2023. Then Kamijo caught me at a particularly vulnerable moment, finally broke my brain beyond repair and brought me crashing back into the more active fandom last year and here I am
I don’t remember the exact time but its been around 16 and a half years for me. A friend got me into Dir en grey in 2008 and I remember being excited as hell seeing a physical copy of Uroboros in Hot Topic lol. I had an mp3 player that I managed to download whole PV’s too and I would watch them during lunch at school. To say vk had a huge impact on my life back then is an understatement, it got me through so much and rediscovering it over the last few years after time away has been a blast.
