So, no? I don’t plan on going to only 2 or 3 shows. It would be easier and more convenient for me to take care of it
Depends on the lives you’re going for! For my case for eplus tickets i relied on a friend or contact, but if there was a combini option i opted for that. Are the lives you’re going have those options open to you?
I am planning however to get eplus the next time I’m in Japan so I can watch streaming concerts
You can get one a couple of weeks in advance to help set up an account, but you aren’t able to officially create one until you get into Japanese cell tower radius. A VPN will not work.
So what I would recommend is a mixed approach.
For the shows in the first half of your trip, or the ones that are really important, use a proxy buyer. You can typically contact someone who lives there that may be willing to help you for 500-1000 yen per ticket. If there is a particular band in mind, you may actually be able to buy a second hand ticket off of a local gya who bought more than one, so maybe even contact one on Twitter who you know speaks English.
Then, when you have a base of tickets for important events, you could buy the rest as you go once you land based on what the best option is.
Thanks for your answers! That’s great to know. I’ll do a mix of the two then, and also same-day tickets for some less important lives. I think I’ll be able to manage everything this way!
I am going to Japan in two weeks (eep ) and I was wondering if it would be worth it to get a sim card from Mobal. They seem to offer an option that comes with a japanese number that would be usable for registering to the different ticketing services. I searched online and from what I have found it should work.
However, it seems to be a bit of a hassle and my ticket needs for this trip (and the next one ) are mostly taken care of already. But if I am going to travel to Japan again later (quite likely), it would be amazing not to have to use an expensive proxy to register for the fanclub ticket lotteries.
So my question is this: Is it generally enough to have the jp number to verify when registering the account on a ticketing service or is it useless if I won’t have access to that number afterwards? I know for some e-tickets you need the app and the same number and a bunch of other confusing stuff but would the account work for tickets you pay by credit card (as long as I have one that works) and pick up at a convenience store before the event?
Yes
Some ticketing services only work w Japanese cards. But you can always opt to pay by conbini
Amazing, thank you!
Combini payment unfortunately won’t work because I would need to be in Japan for that and the primary purpose of the account would be to register for lotteries before travelling But I think Lawson accepts a variety of cards and that is my primary concern since Kamijo seems to use that one
Also for some reason my card seems to often work even when the site claims to only accept jp ones
The benefit to having a Japanese number while there is that when you eventually return, the process of getting tickets will be easier.
That, and even if you have to still pay a proxy for conbini payments…at least the tickets will have your name when you go to present them (not that I’ve ever been turned away for the name not matching, but it could still hypothetically happen)
I have! But it was a digital FC-only ticket, and the ticket vendor was pretty clear about the ticket being non-transferable. (i just tried my luck anyway bc the ticket owner couldn’t go)
There likely won’t be any problem with any non-FC tickets / tickets that aren’t in the saizen numbers.
The (expensive) proxy I have been using has some way of getting my name on the tickets luckily. It’s kind of a necessity for FC tickets because you cannot register for the lottery if the FC name and l-tike account names don’t match or something
I have some non-FC ones that have a different name though so hoping for the best
But it is good to know that someone else can do the combini payment for me as well so my ticket dreams won’t be crushed by credit card problems
Which are the services I should sign up for then? Lawson an eplus are the ones I have seen around most but there are others too, right?
Those were my two big ones, but Ticket Pia sometimes has exclusive tours.
Livepocket is also one I signed up for while in Japan. They accept international credit cards for payment. So does Tickettown, but I was able to apply for that service from overseas.
Have you been able to get a ticket were the ticket app is needed with that proxy?
I am trying to get into FC ecclusive lottery but it is e-plus and seems to be Smartphone app only ticket and they even want a second registration were you have to upload a photo.
Why the hell is it that complicated. They could just print names on tickets and match with name on ID.
I have not tried but from what I understand digital tickets with eplus are near-impossible unless you are in Japan and have a Japanese phone number I am not an expert though and there is no harm in trying/asking.
I recently learned that despite what lawson says on their website, you might not even need a verified account to register for FC lotteries. I would have saved so much money if I had known that earlier So I would recommend trying or asking a proxy service. They will know best if they are able to help or not.
Sounds like the gazette. So many restrictions and rules for this year’s tickets
Correct! I really would like to go and in theory I would have a way to enter the lottery but I would have to spent money and asked my bf to do things for me when he is busy already and there would still be the chance of not getting a ticket in the lottery. And for what… for crying for 2 hours because Reita won’t be there
I am disappointed but it’s okay. Maybe next year.
I’m on the fence as well… I don’t know if i’m ready to see a reita-less gazette on reita’s birthday yet, but i really want to go.
But the ticketing stuff is getting ridiculous.
You need a heresy account that’s more than 1 year old (at least that’s what it says in the email i got) + an eplus acct w/ the same email as your heresy email + face photo verified ticketplus acct + no transfers at all, even between family members + they’ll ask for ID if your face doesn’t match the photo on ticketplus… Gah.
Oh, I think I missed the part with the one year old hersey account (Should get one now for next year ).
Isn’t this getting out of hand? What are people doing, that they think this is necessary? Wouldn’t personalized tickets with name matching your ID be enough?
As far as I know they do this so tickets scalping ain’t possible.
In my opinion the constant FC only shows in not too big venues backfire. People are desperated to get tickets that there most likely had been quite some things going on (also like friends with an FC membership getting tickets for friends who aren’t FC members) and they try to prevent things.
I know FC stuff is common but all these limitations result in frustrated fans and also people doing more or less anything to get some tickets though. Which’s understandable.
In the past I’ve been laughing at the ticket sales for tours in Europe (even though I also participated) but truly, by now that feels like nothing compared to what’s going on in Japan.
I know it is to prevent scalping but… as I said tickets with your name matching your ID should be enough. How is an additional identiy verification app with your photo necessary? And even if a few people get around it because they happen to have the same name, is this really worth making it that hard for everybody? I rather wanna see another band at this point. (Thank you Sadie for making it less complicated even for FC tickets).
And not just any ID photo. They require a photo of yourself showing your upper body. Thats the requirement for the gazette 23rd anniversary which I read
