Here’s another impractical name, but this time for computers.
Windows has some rules about what you can and cannot name a file (and it also considers folders a special type of file).
NUL. breaks both of these rules. If you’re not careful, you can hose your Windows installation by creating a folder you cannot (easily) delete.

It’s not malware.
NUL is a reserved keyword in Windows, functionally similar to dev/null on Linux systems, which accepts input, discards it, and reports success. This is useful when you want to discard output from a running program instead of displaying it on the screen. You’re not allowed to make a file named NUL on Windows the normal way because it’s a reserved keyword for the command line. From my understanding, it functions as a hidden virtual directory in every directory powered by the Null Service somewhere in System32. If you somehow create a file called NUL (like with buggy software), you won’t be allowed to delete it the normal way. Even some advanced command line kung-fu failed me the last time I ran into this issue with @Aeolus. You won’t even be allowed to delete the directory it lives in. I resorted to using a built-in SHIFT+DELETE function of 7-zip to force delete files to get rid of it. There may be another way with the DELETE command that I’m not sure of, but I’m also not looking to get myself into that situation.

it seems like it because why would they do this…
In fact, if you create a folder and try to name it that way you simply get an error message that you can’t do that and that’s it. At least that’s how it happened to me, because I had no clue about not using it. It’s similar to trying to use / for file names.
