Is Yoshiatsu being irresponsible with his fans?

Precisely the reason i’m hesitant to say any more than i have; i’m so never wanting to be victim blaming or investigating but this is the first time where bc it’s person A talking for B’s relation with C, i have no idea. BUT at the same time could easily imagine how B may have told A to post on her behalf if she didn’t want to invite harassment onto herself like what’s happened to Ari since outing Kyouka.

Just too many unknowns for me to feel i have a worthwhile take yet - except the IG stories of his writing I’ve seen myself that’s led me to the same “wouldn’t want to be alone in a room” feeling as newvoguechild

I don’t think in this case it was a case of posting on the victim’s behalf- the last screenshot explicitly says that they’ve cut all ties with the victim after the breakup.

oh shit i didn’t read that far :face_without_mouth:

yoshiatsu is definitely a creepy asshole but the amount of people i see calling him a pedo over this is pissing me off, society itself already treats people turning 18 as full grown adults and lets them ruin their lives however they prefer.

Does the person who had this experience with Yoshiatsu, agree that her " ex-friend " could tell this story publically ? If not, this is absolutely disrespectful. Plus, she seems very messy in the way she writes.

If they are " ex-friends ", it sounds a lot like a revenge act.

Apparently everyone has some random screenshots as proof now.

You see that’s what I appreciated about the kyouka story, it was the victim herself who came forward and it caused a clean cut.
Now? It’s going to get messier with each screenshot appearing. People are starting to question more and more what is true what not.

- Apparently Chloe reached out
- Proof of something, I don’t even know anymore
- Apparently more
I haven’t read all of it anymore.

I think in the end we can all agree that Yoshiatsu is a creep, predator.
And also, his silence speaks for itself, especially after all the times he was so noisy to correct himself.

And please, all the young girls out there, protect yourself too. I know it’s hard, we all want to believe “but he is different”. But think about it, would you say the same still if he wasn’t in a band??

So, please, try to stay safe kids.

Besides all these “proofs” popping up, I’ve come across this tweet and to me that feels way more trustworthy without being a real proof, especially in the context of him going silent suddenly like @Rena mentioned.

bye yoshiatsu, dont ruin drugs and fukuro

So many of these issues would be solved if these guys would just date someone their own age. Any relationship between a 18 year old and a 40 year old is bad news flat out.

If I remember correctly (or maybe not), wasn’t there already a case involving Yoshiatsu where he made his young girlfriend at the time had a abortion?

Yes there was, but apparently most fans cut that off under tanuki rumors are all false or some mass amnesia I guess.

Besides there have been a few years since then, right?
Lots of the younger fans probably even weren’t part of the scene back then. Combined with quite some fans not having considered these more than tanuki rumors they possibly never heard of that before.

Is Yoshiatsu being irresponsible with fans?

No doubt about it.

If you’ve been a fan of his projects then you know he’s a creep, a kusomen, a fuck boy, etc. pick one, or two. So this doesn’t come across as a surprise at all, in fact…Since I’d been following his social media activity closely the past few months, I kept wondering when things would blow up.

Dude opened the flood gates on Instagram by interacting so closely with fans. There were flirtations, asks for pictures, sharing fan content, baiting his audience to keep sending DMs because he absolutely reads all of them and might even react/respond. You could see how his most ardent fans were way too young to have unrestricted access to their idol like that. (Or should it be the other way around?)

edit: he also talked often about “not being the good guy”, and fans think “wow he’s just like me fr”, as if he’s just being edgy. Nah, he means it quite literally and it almost sounds like he was prepping the soil for any scandals to come. “I did tell y’all I’m not good, didn’t I?”

I thought, it must be this guy’s first rodeo with the western fandom. If he knew any better he’d behave bc if he’s being a pos and it blows up it’ll be game over.

Now the way this story blew up is all sorts of messy. It reads as if OP had beef against their ex friend and is doing this out of spite, but masked as “I have genuine concern!!”.

There are already stories bubbling up regarding Yoshiatsu’s weird behaviour towards fans during Fukuro’s last EU tour.

And on DRUGS latest post, people are already calling for him to be kicked off the band.

I’d like to see what reactions come out of this. Kyuho already has a short temper with the western fandom, how will he respond to people demanding a statement from him? Mind you he was singing praises about all folks in DRUGS being wonderfully kind people.

It’s a shitty feeling bc Yoshiatsu is one of my all time favourite vocalists, but I’m by no means surprised.

Why does a lot of the “proof” sound like wattpad fanfic? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

It’s easy to jump into this all like “I’m actually friend of a friend of a friend and asked them about it” and just write stuff. It’s helping nobody.

(I’m talking about the “proof” of innocence. It def reads like a Wattpad fic)

The Wattpad fanfic comment made me think, I think one of the main problems with V系 specifically when it comes to this stuff is the extent to which everything in the scene is a story, an act, all the bandomen are characters playing a role (very often very literally). Of course this happens in other branches of music too, but it’s particularly concrete in ours. It’s way too easy to blur the lines between the character and the human. (Which is probably the reason why fanfics are such a common thing :stuck_out_tongue: )

Imho, it’s infinitely healthier once you realise this and, sure, participate in that act at the livehouse, that’s part of the scene (or write your fanfics, let yourself get lost in a song if you don’t go to lives, that’s all valid and fine too!), but learn to separate the art and the artist. I don’t mean this in the sense of “oh let’s ignore the shitty things people do”, but in the much more literal sense of not conflating, say, Yoshiatsu in a 梟 PV and Yoshiatsu asking for pics on Instagram. It’s just not easy for everyone, especially when you’re young.

Modern social media has definitely exasperated the issue with the Western fandom in particular (but even in The Times of Yore it was far from unheard of, of course) , it’s so much easier to use instagram to DM your favourite bandomen compared to having to navigate ameblo or something… It’s naive to think people don’t get involved with the bandomen but it’s just so much healthier to not do that, really. Enjoy the music, enjoy the story.

Oh goddamnit. I was just hyping this guy up not that long ago because I had just gotten back into VK and thought he seemed promising.

I kinda have low expectations for bandmen NOT being fuckboy coomers who try to hook up with whoever the law will permit, so I don’t want to say I’m 100% floored by this.

I agree that the evidence and the way this has rolled out looks like a shit show. Apparently there is now dispute that the girlfriend was actually 19 when they first met, not 17. Which is still morally questionable, but doesn’t fit the “he groomed her as a minor” narrative that I saw some people were spreading in the beginning.

Shit.

I guess, glad to hear relevant parties are taking this seriously.

If they all come to the same conclusion, this could end pretty badly for Yoshiatsu.
