Veryyy quick preview of one of the songs, THE___ (according to him the underbar/line doesn’t need to be said or pronounced) up via the Wacha Wacha NicoNico show he was on, folks who have more technical/professional thoughts can share their two cents. Personally, in my very biased worldview, it’s fun for me, specifically because I can hear some synth cowbell(?) going on.
Also my god, his top probably costs at least a couple hundred bucks in my currency…

That’s Yamamoto Noboru, or Nobotan, the host of the Wacha Wacha programme on NicoNico, which regularly features vkei bands and musicians! This photo was from the programme’s socials, after Sakito’s appearance yesterday on the programme, I think. Also Noboru tends to take pretty wacky selfies

Ohhhh goods glorious goods!! I hope there’s enough leftover for online sales. Surprised he’s not in heels this time, though he did mention he spent so much time drawing the Ganesa featured in the goods he almost didn’t have time to create/design the other merch.
Also, THE____ is up on streaming everyone!

Lucky!! I wish I could be there! I’m hoping for the acrylic stands to have enough for sales in particular, his birthday ones are already sold out, probably. Ah.
I learned my lesson after Sakito’s birthday live this year. I wasn’t going to the show, I just really wanted the t shirt and I was like ehh. the birthday shirts don’t usually sell out, I’ll just get one when they put it on the website and boom. Sold out. But I am going to at least 1 of the Jakigan lives though.

Yes, even with my very biased lenses, I’d agree, it’s not gonna be an album that’s gonna win new fans, though it’s kinda got its own charm. Kinda how the latest Nightmare singles went, I feel, like they probably just needed a bit more of an experimental push or time.
I have to say I enjoyed Shibouyugi, which surprised me given that I think I’m the kind that would enjoy stuff that sounds like Gymnopedie and even THE____. And speaking of the latter, I think it would be more fun to enjoy THE____ live, perhaps?
Nobotan was right on the money when he said the songs(?) or maybe specifically the track before the sitar instrumental… reminded him of Hide, very much so, which is surprising even since Sakito mentioned that he wasn’t really actively thinking of Hide.
I really appreciated the sitar instrumental. I’m impressed that he’s already got a pretty good handle on the instrument since it was a recent addition.
I’m guessing the production timeline is tight. I have a hunch that he probably needs more time before he can really combine that sound with vocals. It would be cool if he could do something like that soon.

Whenever I listen to Jakigan Meister I always get very confused when he does English. One sentence will be perfectly clear and understandable, natural, correct and the next, some words are incomprehensible if not the full sentence and grammatically incorrect
I think it’s nice Sakito seems to be actually trying to use real English though even if it’s a bit cringy at times (saying “what the mother, what the fuck” is super cringy let’s be real) Apparently he tries to coach Yomi on it since Yomi’s English is bad even for Japanese. Even in their Raising the Flag tour in one of their shows Yomi called it “Rising” which Sakito called him out for, to which Yomi justified by saying he asked the staff if “Rising” was ok and they told him yes.
i hope i’m not wrong for this lol but i hope things like this don’t stop. imho it’s just nice and interesting to see english used ‘wrong’ like this - like Ruki’s “i will walk together” and everything else. not in a funny sense, not in anything too deep either, it’s just nice to hear new word combos; it’s one of the little cool things about the scene to me.

oh yeah i agree. I feel like the katakana english and the weird cringy stuff has its own charm.
like, hyde’s english sounds pretty good now when he sings (I’ve never heard him speak in English so idk about that) but it was trash in “Good-morning Hide”. The pronunciation was pretty bad, and the lyrics (by Sakura) make zero sense unless you know japanese. But I still like it because it has its own flavor, you know?

I agree with this wholeheartedly—definitely not wrong! Maybe it’s my background as well, so it makes me really appreciate any effort at all, even if it can get a little funny at times. Especially when you start to see the patterns/themes or why some things were spelt or put together in the way that they were.
Sometimes, it’s just genuinely taking a stab at trying out the language. Other times, it’s unpacking the way they interpret the language and why they chose to frame something with certain words. Or it’s a wholly random choice. It gives the language a chance to be human, me thinks.
I note that plenty of Nightmare songs too have English titles as well. Hang in there Yomi, poor dude was struggling so hard with an English tongue-twister
SO COOL!!! I appreciate this detail, thank you for sharing about this! It is a dream job, but I, too, have too many problems with grammar and expression to help 
I appreciate that he got someone to eyeball (haha, putting the gan in Jakigan) the lyrics at least! Only they know the depth of the adviser’s involvement, though I’m sure the person looked at the lyrics at least, making sure they were sensible or within artistically acceptable limits if such a standard exists.
I’m guessing it’s that level—kind of like where a makeup product says ophthalmologically approved, just a level below ophthalmologically tested. Works for most regardless!

You guys were so right. At first, I was like, “Hmm, this is an acquired taste.” Then, now I find myself going, “What the mother what the fakkkkkkk” quite a bit. Probs gotta print it out at work sometime. I appreciate that it’s also inspired by 80s’ music, and definitely his influences, and I always appreciate that coming through more greatly through his solo work.

I honestly feel like he’s more 90’s than 80’s 9n this. I have to agree with whoever said this reminds hide’s work.

I should mention that in the new Tenka Saiboso concert there’s an edited and pitched up voice on the Loudspeaker that sounds very similar to Sakito. It says “Nightmare’s Tenka Saiboso 2024, the (Do not know what goes here) was revived in the present day” in a sing song voice
But whoever says it had very good pronounciation apart from saying “throuthand”. The word i couldn’t catch sounds like “press room” for me but that doesn’t make sense.
