Hey everyone, I was wondering if the band Kaggra, is a visual kei group? I’d consider them one but I’m wondering what you guys think! Listening to one of their albums right now. I’ve had one song from them that I’ve been listening to for a good 3 years now so I’ve finally stemmed into the album it came from and I’m liking it so far!
I’d say they are, yes. What’s the song/album you’ve been listening to?
The song I’ve liked for a few years is “霞んだ冬の向こうに、、、” and so I’m listening to the album it’s on atm, Shizuku
They are visual.
A lovely song to listen to for 3 years!
Agreed! It still has a prized place on my Vkei playlist on Spotify hehe
Yes! Yes they are! They were one of the big PSC bands, and they were one of the bands featured for the big Peace and Smile Carnival 2009, which also had The Gazette, Alice Nine, Kra and Miyavi. Sug and Screw too it seems.
Also it’s a lovely song! Utakata from the same album is probably the biggest hit there, but I have a connection with kaze (was covered by a local band where I lived and it was my first introduction to Kagrra) and Shizuku is so heartrending.
Ah yes, speaking of the Peace and Smile Carnival 2009, that particular live’s version of Utakata and Sai was chefs kiss. Please enjoy your journey into Kagrra’s music! They made their way into my heart a little late in my vkei journey, but they’ve made a home there since <3
Ah yes to add: on streaming, Kagrra’s discography is split into two profiles, one spelt as Kagrra, (with the comma) and Kagrra (without the comma).
The one without the comma has their discography from their indie days, while the one with the comma is all their works under PSC and Columbia Records. There are still bits of their music missing from streaming I think.
Kagrra, is a gem. Really beautiful music. Sad the vocalist is no longer with us.
Kagrra, are one of the greatest visual kei bands of all time. I can still go back to any point in their storied discography and find a track i like, and find new things to love about it. Shin/Akiya were a great lead/rhythm team, but the low end from Nao & Izumi is just wild.
if you have any doubts about who is vk or not vk, I recommend visual kei lessons with the seniors, we have a few here on the forum. Myself included
Was it ever revealed what happened?
Not that I’m aware of. It’s been so long now though, I can’t really remember S:
I’ve heard rumors, but I think the responsible thing is for me to not spread them. Subcranial hemorrhage was the official reason given.
I’m very new to learning all the stuff lol! Thank you for welcoming me!
Love this! Thank you for sharing all your experiences too. It’s awesome to hear all of that. I can’t wait to hear and listen to more bands.
Omg really? That’s so cool what? I’ll have to check the rest out
OMG NOOOO THATS so sad… i didn’t know. He had such a lovely voice
Thank you so much! That’s awesome aghhh
