it has been announced that Kaito, vocalist of Wizard, has passed away on 10/27 after a six-month battle with stage 4 stomach cancer. May he rest in peace.

I remember reading about Masumi passing as well, four years prior. While I didn’t follow them closely, it’s painful to see cancer claim another. RIP. Condolences to his fans and family.

Kaito always suffered from his weight, being to “fat” to fit the japanese standard and therefore taking numberous questionable diet pills, which may caused his illness as well…

that’s so awful, I actually hoped to see him on stage again with all the revivals of mid-2000s VK happening and people returning for new projects, this is so horrible
Japan has fairly high gastric cancers rate because of the salt-heavy local cuisine;
drinking culture in VK/host circles probably does add up a fair lot too, but this is just so unfair when it happens to someone so young.

I doubt any pills that are sold normally can cause cancer.
Those kind of product are not natural. Similar to any kind of medics, it can have secondary effect.

Of cause it’s not only the pills, but I remember those pills were seriously dangerous and caused some peoples death. In the end it’s sure a combination of verious factors.
Nevertheless what it really was in the end, it’s a tragedy.
