So cool as an OG Beyblade fan and a person who discovered the band through FMA.
Holy. I didn’t know L’arc was doing the OP for Beyblade X. Good shit. Can’t wait for this
I don’t have high hopes, but I always like to hear from these guys, so looking forward to it~
yes, this!
Also an OG Beyblade fan. Its so cool to see L’arc making an opening theme to a shpw that shapent childhood
Praying Hyde says “Let it rip biiiiiiitch” or something
One of the most fake bands out there, currently. A hot take and im sorry if you dont like it.
But back in the good old days they were one of my favorites, when the passion was there. Like seriously I was the biggest fan out there! But something happened along the way…
I think it even was “leaked” that they or someone of them said they only do these singles (/concerts) for the money, and don’t enjoy it at all. Didn’t someone also say that they dont like eachother anymore?
Well lets see what generic soulless material the corp(label) forced them to release this time… The passion is gone a long time ago…
Turning on Blurry Eyes, damn that base line. One of the most iconic base lines of jrock in total. And the song is so damn good as well.
Okay, I love L’Arc, but it’s true. Everything released after 2000 is just like ehhh.
The members don’t even want to do L’Arc anymore, but everyone and their dog wants them to keep going. Including me, I’m not ready to say goodbye either. I just keep giving them money🤷♀️
Edit: the 30th Anniversary documentary talked about the members being thiiiiiis close to disbanding. the footage of them rehearsing was crazy, none of them talked to each other at all. they just spoke to staff who would relay the message to the other members.
I also saw that, zero conversation like you wrote, zero banter or anything to bring up the mood, really awkward. I wonder if they had a huuuge fight or something years ago, maybe even before the 2000s - and haven’t made up yet. Now its sitting too deep, and they just quietly do their job like robots instead, of course only for the money. I call it that something like that happened, I can’t really think of anything else, anyway they managed to keep it all private.
i heard that they were already pretty close to disbanding before the sakura thing happened.
tbh it feels like hyde is the one who’s sick of doing l’arc–his solo music is so different.
it’s definitely not tetsuya, because why would he start a l’arc cover band if he didn’t like l’arc music anymore?
i don’t think it’s ken either, because i was at the M.A.D event and he looked pretty happy about playing l’arc songs with other people.
tbf i can’t really blame them either. l’arc is such a moneymaker. I’d suck it up for the money too😭
I also think its Hyde who is the “problem”, the “troublemaker”
Hard to say more for now.
Its Tecchan who composed more or less all Laruku’s most famous songs, which you for sure know. (Thats why Hyde’s solo career’s music sounds very generic, because Tecchan isnt there…). Same with Ken, like you said you saw him at the event, yukihiro is also having fun i think, doing an extra gig with that dog band. In interviews he laughs alot.
They must be all getting really juicy royalties every year. Forget spotify. I think they get a small amount every time someone sings their songs at karaoke, for example. And imagine how many are singing their songs? When they peaked in Japan they REALLY PEAKED - everyone knew them. Same as with Glay, late 90s too early 2000s, say 95-2005. Were the golden years of entertainment in Japan imo. The same can be said about jdramas, jpop in general, movies etc. Watch the live drama adaptation of GTO!
Well that was some rambling, sorry. But yeah I wish we knew what happened, because something definitely went down, and it cant have been pretty.
how many bands after 30 years still like each other honestly??? like jrock or otherwise i just assume that it’s just all business at that point
There’s a reason the members of DIR EN GREY don’t hang out.
Didnt kyo at one time even say they dont have eachothers phone number?
How could the band compose a song this good without talking to each other?
I had a bad feeling about the intro and verse, with that there is just no way the chorus is good… and I was correct… that has to be one of the weakest choruses ever on a Laruku single. Just so bland.
And yes I know I am often negative here but I am just so tired of bands being half-assed and disappointing, but when there is truly good stuff I praise it like Matenrou Opera’s recent releases for example (hikari no ame, sooo good!), or that new The Thirteen single just the other day which was so damn good. 2 new songs and both really solid!
Well welll… that was disappointing… It hurts me if Tecchan wrote that song. I just can’t believe he is the one who wrote a song like Dive to Blue
Song’s not bad, typical latter-era Laruku. At this point I’m not expecting miracles, I’m just along for the ride.
Tbh all that I can say is “yes, this sounds like Laruku”. But I am indiffrent to it otherwise mostly. Would not bother me if it came up in a playlist, but I would not actively put it on. Maybe it’s a Song that grows on you if you watch the anime…
