I’ll pay good money for Hazuki to not write Lynch songs for a good 2 releases. This song was some mid.

I think people who complain that this sounds like typical lynch. are missing the point a little. That’s the whole purpose of this song - to celebrate their 20th anniversary, which I think is fair to say is a decent accomplishment in the modern music scene. That’s why there’s references to previous songs in there too. I think this is going to go hard at their end of year anniversary live, I really hope I can get a ticket.

It could be their 50th, with even more references. Mid music is mid music. Respectfully, there is no “point” to get. It is what it is.
It also doesn’t help that Hazuki’s solo stuff is MORE or LESS similar to what we’ve been getting with these latest batches of singles. I said this in another thread, we CAN LIKE Lynch. And we can also be objective about their music, like every other artist or band. That brother’s pen is WASHED. That’s OK to say.

Facts.
It literally feels like Hazuki has been repackaging the same songs over and over again since like, 2015. I don’t think that counts as a “typical sound”—that’s just redundancy & staleness…

I agree it doesnt help that Hazuki is repackaging Lynch. work into his own solo-like work however this single definitely carries that typical Lynch. formula which is beautiful IMO.
They experimented enough with ULTIMA & Fierce. I don’t need them to re-create their formula as aggressively.

Hazuki as himself or for Lynch? Lynch has been experimenting a lot as of late.. in fact I have specifically waiting for them to return to this greatness. I hope the whole album is like this my brain will explode from dopamine
Mainly referring to the writing Hazuki does for lynch. although his recent solo stuff has become stale to me too. In my opinion, lynch. has experimented with their sound for a total of only three (3) releases in the past 10 years, and I think that their most enjoyable attempt at experimentation is REBORN. That isn’t to say that Hazuki’s typical style is bad. It just becomes less fun when you’ve heard the same song structure 50 other times. Hazuki has proven that he can write good and diverse songs. His spirit just isn’t the same as it was.

I think ultima was a good experiment should be on that list. I personally liked the vibe it gave off and it also differs from some of thier old stuff a bit at least for certain songs.

ULTIMA and Reborn were both great, and sound pretty different from each other.
New song is pretty generic, and the last EP wasn’t amazing, but I know they’re capable of at least some new creative output.
Here’s hoping they defibrillate their sound after they finish these remake albums… it must not be lost on them that greedy dead souls has been received well, and fans want more of it.

How many more remakes can they make before they loop back in on themselves? I BELIEVE IN ME / INFERIORITY COMPLEX would be nice but I’m not sure we need anything after that redone.

Do they need to rerecord IBIM/IC since those were released under King Records and available on streaming services?
In all seriousness, i didn’t bother with both The Avoided Sun and Shadows, so I’m curious (especially since I was blown away by previous retakes).
And ey, I always can ignore Bringer.
But yeah. The rest of the band should be more proactive (or, you know, push REBORN idea more and just forbid Hazuki from writing stuff for lynch.)
And yeah, Ultima still rocks.
