Sounds solid so far, looking forward!

Hold up, really??

That was the first thing I noticed upon hearing it!

CME sounds incredible.

And I’m so glad they finally gave SHADOWZ some attention. Definitely one of my favorite songs of all time. Pumped to hear the whole thing.

I’m even more excited for this than I thought I was. Curious about the new versions of Liberation chord, The Universe, and Cultic My Execution.

Why are they covering the ‘Judgement‘ & ‘‘A GLEAM IN EYE‘ single & c/w songs on the 3rd disc? Unless they don’t intend to self-cover “I believe in me“….? No, I wanna hear the retake on ‘LIE‘!!!

It’s just…so peak.

It can only get better if they extend the outro of CME, & Prominence.

Vocals are even more front facing now with these re-makes. I worry the additional layering? (Or reveal of additional layering) on Hazuki’s voice will take away some of the background instrumental in the songs but I do LOVE THE POLISH AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING FROM THE END. REGARDLESS I WILL SUPPORT. BUYING FROM CDJAPAN!

Update: Listening to the preview I think some tracks specifically gained a lot more from these re-makes. Sounds great.

I DON’T KNOW WHERE I AM & SHADOWZ & AN ILLUSION sounds glorious. Lord.

LLL

LONG LIVE LYNCH.

(Hazuki’s band originally being Deathgaze still blows my mind)

Yummy.

The Avoided Sun…I’m….kinda split…the vocals sound so clean. Too clean. I also didn’t notice before, but Hazuki used to sing with a much deeper tone that is way different than his current voice. I don’t mind the instrumentals sounding more polished as much though. They certainly hit harder especially on songs like The Universe and Enemy and I’m all for that.

I do think everything is a little too clean and it takes away from the original album’s soundscape of raw and straightforward composition. The mixing on that album made it feel like you were watching the band in a small venue with minimal set-up and every part had its moment to shine. In the remake, everything is so loud and competing for attention. Guitar parts that are more embellished and pushed forward and especially that snare drum. They take focus away from the vocals which used to be a highlight for me.

I think a lot of my concerns will be resolved though when listening to the high quality versions. I know at least half of issue is crappy youtube compression.

Shadows on the other hand, I think sounds fantastic. Their current style fits like a glove with this album and everything I think is nearly improved from the compositions being tweaked just enough to be faithful but more interesting and the mixing sounding a hell of a lot more punchy and clean.

I might actually be in the minority, but I always found Shadows underwhelming. It’s like the compositions were written in their major label style, but mixed with their indie days sound. To me it sounded like an attempt at an evolution in sound but limited to whatever resources they had at the time. It sounded strangely flat to me in comparison to The Avoided Sun as the mixing just wasn’t able to bring the songs up to the level that they could’ve been.

This remake sounds like it’s breathed brand new life into Shadows. Peak classic lynch. songwriting with modern production standards. I don’t often like remakes as I think those two qualities typically clash, but this one sounds like a perfect match.

I’m incredibly excited to give it a full listen.
