Ive read somewhere, or rather at many places that he is fluent in English. Or heard people say it.

but hmm.. I don’t mean to be an ass he and he is better than most normal japanese people but would you call that fluent? Sorry if it is a hot take.
He talked quite a lot during a live here and he seemed quite fluent to me. He also speaks chinese btw.
Please also take into account that it is much harder to learn english when you come from an unrelated mother tongue like japanese.

this is so interesting to me because there are still foreign groups and bands touring here with no delays or cancellations. i don’t blame him though lol
What makes you say that? He doesn’t pronounce perfectly, but in the recent clips I’ve seen he doesn’t seem to have any issues with actual fluency.

I saw Miyavi during his Kavki boyz era and his English was basically non existent. Imagine my surprise when he popped up on my feed in 2024 with his fluency and ability to express himself in English.
