They really want to make it work … that rebranding was fast LMAO. They didn’t bother to change their stage names, that customes (and first song) may probably be from the last band.
in a way I am happy to see karasu and co again, yet I don’t know if I have any right to yet forgive.
at first I started retweeting the announcements as fast a possible, but now I realise, that a rebrand alone is not necesarily enough to part ways with the past.
So, the drummer left because he was the one who thought of the Okinawa stunt and was purged or because he was the only one to not want to continue to work with the kind of people who thought of the Okinawa stunt?
I also wonder if the new drummer knows who they are lol
Basically, his short-lived side project Grand Giugnol came into some controversy for using Rising Sun imagery, saying things during lives like “Long Live the Japanese Empire!”
Then, they had an Okinawa live planned, and decided to make it a themed live about the Himeyuri girls. The Himeyuri were Nursing students who were brought to the front lines in Okinawa to work on wounded Japanese soldiers.
They were essentially abandoned to die by the army, some from starvation, some from suicide, some by the Americans.
That, combined with their seemingly pro-Nationalism visuals, caused a lot of backlash…surprisingly, mainly from Japanese fans this time.
I’ve also come across posts on Twitter from (probably former?) fans who saw for themselves that the vocalist isn’t just an imperialist wannabe, but also a deeply racist. After all the news about how life is being made harder for legal migrants in Japan, he was shouting ‘get out of the country’ in front of his fans even after a fan personally told him that this caused them emotional distress.
if VK fans were putting half of their energy on bullying them instead of babying VK dudes in general and other useless things, they’d be sent to oblivion and actually be useful to society.
