I really don’t understand how people develope like this. How do you make shock factor songs and performances which undoubtedly show your fascist regime in a bad light but still stay a facist?

Either you just have fun playing the bad guy or don’t see them as bad guys at all. Well, could be both, I guess, but you get the idea.
The thing is (at least from what I have heard please correct me if I am wrong) a lot of eroguro artist even with the frequent imagery of nazism and etc were very anti war and it was moreso a form of protest against the militarisation of Japan, depicting often explicitly war crimes by the Japanese regimes.
I didn’t see it as “ironic facist political takes” but moreso as an art form which now got smeared by actual facists.

Sorry for my ignorance but I’m so confused about this, what exactly was the issue? I don’t know anything about how live shows work but plenty of bands make songs about the fucked up parts of war from most any perspective you can think of as well as every other horrible aspect of life, what’s so special about those medical students that make them unacceptable to portray in art? Am I missing something? If this is the standard to cancel a band why are bands like Dir En Grey, the GazettE, the Gallo, Deviloof, or most any eroguro/menhera/kote kei not a problem? I tried to look into it a bit but would just see a bunch of people acting like it’s common sense that this wasn’t okay and I find that very worrying since I think vk bands (and bands in general) should be able to freely express themselves.
Anyway definitely happy to see them continue, had been worried Hitchcock might’ve been his last band.

They absolutely can freely express themselves, and they have, and this is the resulting discussion. Maybe that sounds harsh, i don’t mean it that pointedly - but it’s kinda like if as a band you’re gonna use explicitly political imagery / lyrics, aren’t you gonna get discussion?
From my perspective, where i could certainly be wrong we i’m just a casual overseas fan ofc, to me it looks like a band put out a release, it was criticized on its merits and content, and on bad reception the members decided to scrap that project and reorganize. Is that honestly meaningfully different than a band putting out bad music that flops and deciding to break up that project and try another?
I’m not sure if sentiment is largely like fuck these guys, they should quit music, punish them etc - on here at least looks more like saying that’s a bad decision, shouldn’t have happened, losing interest in members due to their views and expressions. Like for literally every single band and artist i enjoy there’s at least one thing they did i can point to and say “i don’t feel they should have done that”, and i think it’s fine to hold both criticisms like that and overall support, follow, and enjoy their works.
Imho if you don’t allow for that, you’ve got to sort bands into perfect where everything they do is defensible, or ruined where appreciating anything can’t be justified.
As to why’s this example received so differently than Gallo / GazettE / etc - i wish i could share my thoughts but as is i don’t even know if this comment i’m writing is allowed by the rules 
They seem different tho, in what the bands express and how the reception is, so i think you’re right to notice it, y’know all imho

the issue here is that they’re just pompous posers who used it for the aesthetics, and not in a way to bring awareness.

Of course I have no problem with discussion, based on what I understand about what happened they were supposed to play some show and they stated it would be about the Himeyuri girls and a bunch of people got upset for some reason and their show got cancelled, I don’t think that’s being allowed to express yourself, then when I watched their MV on YouTube so many of the comments were just saying how they’re so evil and stupid and how could they even think such a thing is okay and I just feel like there must be something I don’t understand, the story didn’t stand out as being anything ridiculously horrific/offensive compared to countless other topics bands in these genres sing about all the time, yet people were acting like it’s somehow common sense that doing a show on this topic would not be allowed and the band are the worst most disgusting people for even considering something like this, if it was something that happened recently maybe I might understand but it happened back in WWII.. Imo it is definitely meaningfully different than them putting out bad music and it flopping because in that situation they put out music and people don’t like it and criticize it, no problem, but in this scenario people didn’t go to their show and decide they didn’t like it or that it was bad they say doing a show on that topic should be forbidden..
It was considered offensive because japanese people considered it offensive to okinawan history.
i’m going to break it down without sounding political:
- the band used imperial japanese military imagery as their aesthetic
- the Himeyuri girls were victims of the imperial army
- the band would say slogans associated with the imperial army while dressed up as the girls
- okinawa has a history of being oppressed by mainland japan (this is an oversimplification)
basically, the point is they were being offensive to Okinawan people IN Okinawa, while not being Okinawans themselves.

What’s so hard to understand? It’s basically like they were cosplaying Anne Frank, using her image in their flyer and holding a live event in her hometown. Of course there’s going to be backlash. They’re not being cancelled or silenced, they chose to back out and disband. If they truly had something meaningful to say about those victims, they could still go ahead with the event. Instead, it seems like they didn’t have the courage to face the criticism that anyone can see miles ahead and they puss out like a coward.

Once again some quite akward AI effects on the music video but the outfits look really cool in movement. And I am always a sucker for such high delay lead guitars like in this refrain.
I don’t dislike it but someone please buy this man some new melodies…

i couldn’t finish the video LOL, that AI is very distracting. Give us proper low-budget cornered vkei MVs.
Karasu still has that luring performance tho, I have to listen to the song properly later… but I’m not really buying this express rebrand tbh.
