Marvelous Cruelty and la’veil mizeria songs seems unpublished
Don’t know for Misanthrope just bc their disco seems quite obscure
Right? @1F319

Why obscure? I keep their vk.gy page up to date and you’ll find everything there ^^

Answering the question itself - it’s a new track, unless they randomly renamed an old one lol

I was refer to the new cassette tape that don’t have yet an official tracklist^^

Yeah, their two upcoming tapes don’t have any details published yet but then again, “GARNET” will most likely have an SE + “GARNET” while the 2nd tape is confirmed to be a re-release of “13番目ノ悲愴ナル結末” that I doubt they re-recorded for this occasion.

Okay so insanity definitely a new song!

They’ve just announced a new merch item - brand new photo set:

I find it very interesting that all these oldschool revival bands copy Madeth gray’ll. I know they were quite a cult band back in their days, but it’s not like they were the first and only Kote band, yet they became kinda the poster child for the style. Not that I have a problem with it, since I like Madeth, but I also don’t want revival bands to restrict themselves too much by only taking inspo from a single band.

It would be cool for example to see other Matina or Soleil bands to be paid homage to - how about Derail, Mirage, S or Eze:qul?

I mean, Kuja from Misanthrope is heavily inspired by Eze:quL. He even posted this quite recently: https://twitter.com/kujajajajajajan/status/1462774578132905987

I think we can totally expect more bands to join the “direct influences” list. Marvelous Cruelty have been trying out a bunch of styles as well.

This is really cool, Eze:quL were nice.

And I feel Crucifixion had a good mixture of styles, not just Madeth influenced stuff. I’m sure we’ll be hearing a good mixture from Misanthrope too.

I think that Crucifixion had a different focus sound-wise. They surely did aim for something oldschool but their approach was clearly modern. With Misanthrope they went hard on nailing the homage kei also in terms of recording. Reminds me a bit of what Marvelous Cruelty did with adding artificial noise and all the gimmicks that are a part of the “ripping old tapes” experience.

I hope they can do a cover of BLOODY VALENTINE, and FutariShizuka stops being blonde

黒ノ醜宴 was alright, probably more cool live than as a stand-out recording. Also a bit annoyed at the quality since Crucifixion had great quality with kote-style without having to compromise, this just feels like “yeah let’s fake it all the way back to 1998” (and not in the best way), i don’t mind it but i also appreciate doing oldies with modern technology, not the tin can underwater.
Expecting more from their other material once it hits my ears!

パラノイア and requiem sounds 70% like Crucifixion, the rest is somewhere in between. Personally, I’ve enjoyed Misanthrope more than Crucifixion. Maybe because now they’re more explicit about the style/genre :candle:
