Nightmare Announce European Tour January, 2025

Wow… great.

Why :open_mouth: ? This was weird af

@Xayide interestingly vk bands often have the guitarist be the most popular member … it prob follows the idol group logic more where there is one too popular member but each appeals to different crowds

I had heard that the Spain show might get canceled but practically half the tour ? Their job is to advertise the band and they’re radio silent since the initial announcement then we’re the ones eating shit by having shows canceled less than a month in advance.

How and did you hear about the cancelation? I had the feeling the Spanish venue was too big but they seemed to be selling quite a few tickets

“Unavoidable production conflicts” is funny too. Sales are really bad. No vip/priority is sold out as we speak and even the remaining dates are selling bad.

There’s almost 500 regular tickets left for Cologne on me-shop (and eventim also sells regular tickets). It’s a ~700 cap venue.

Heard from someone who knows someone who knows Envolproductions or someone there

I had been saying from the beginning that they should’ve started in Latin America. Brazil and Chile have been the most active international fandom for Nightmare even during hiatus. European fans got super scattered and only rose from the shadows when this tour was announced.

To be fair, they did, I guess, get the folks more active on socials, like now they have an official IG and TikTok in two languages. But yeah, I did have some doubts about the reach of their promotion because I felt like they needed to also reach out to the anime fans and their related circles. I just cross-posted the news into the death note Reddit, too, but of course, whatever I can do alone will honestly be just too minuscule to help. I feel almost helpless looking at the situation because I want them to succeed, but at the same time, better announce something now then announce something 1 week before or during the tour due to unforeseen circumstances. Still, it stinks, it stings, and it’s all so confusing, though I remain mostly curious to the circumstances.

Sigh, that would really have done wonders for them. Manifesting a huge blessing in disguise this time round for them and the latam fans. I don’t even need Nightmare to visit where I am, I want the latam fans to get the dream they’ve been waiting for…

Yeah guitarists are regularly popular, but I have to say each of them have their specific charms, even if Yomi were to grind someone’s gears with his antics and Ruka having a really strong RBF, Nightmare is full of charming guys!

ALSO HAPPY TO HELP RESURRECT THE NI~YA CRUSH I POST HIM REGULARLY IN DIFFERENT THREADS INCLUDING THE HOT OLD JROCK MEN THREAD HERE also he really likes fishing he’s a happy fluffy old man in training.

also @chrisXlr8r and the rest who bought tickets/hotels/etc., were you able to get refunds?

Thankfully the shows I’m seeing are still on. I know a Spaniard who is looking for last minute flights but judging from the Instagram post, quite a few people booked hotels and such with varying degrees of refundability. I know a Greek lady who booked to Budapest and was able to get refunds on everything except the flight

It seems one of the ticket services might not give refunds ? rather the event organizers do. Don’t know about that but if true that’s very messy.

On a side note, I hope this cancelation gives Yomi and the rest extra rest time given the LONG tour they’re doing. Yomi’s voice might actually be destroyed by the end of the year with that tour

This is such sad news, both for the band and the fans who were looking forward to seeing them :smiling_face_with_tear:

It feels so weird they would struggle with sales when I am still half living in 2008 (vkei wise) and think of them as one of the biggest names in the scene. But I guess they just aren’t anymore. While social media is not always an accurate measure of popularity, I have to say I have not seen anything close to the enthusiasm for this tour that Jiluka and MME had a few months back. It is sad but I hope the shortened tour is still a good experience for them :face_holding_back_tears::pray:

I think most people see them as just “a big name”. When I got into Nightmare everyone knew who they were but no one took them seriously. On MH it seemed you’d just get laughed off the site if you said you liked them

I think an international tour could’ve been amazing. But beginning in Europe was NOT wise. Nightmare isn’t Kamijo. Nightmare’s international fanbase is in LATAM not in Europe. If they had gone to Brazil and Chile, then gone to like Mexico first they would have absolutely no issue because the LATAM fanbase is strong and from there I can see Europeans waking up from hibernation to see and WANT them to go to their countries.

That and Nightmare already went to Paris once. Latin America hasn’t been given anything. The only thing I heard was Yomi was very flattered when a Chilean fan went to see them in Japan recently and he was worried that the Chilean would only know The World so he convinced the staff to let them play part of it during the MC.

Yeah I think the vkei fandom has either survived better in lat. am. or had a bigger revival there. Although from what I understand it can be difficult to find a reliable organizer there so that might be why they went with Europe :woman_shrugging:

The tour announcement and the cancelation are literally the only posts about the tour on b7klan’s Instagram. All others were about their kpop tours.

Guilty as charged.

I call this “The curse of Death Note”.

Both Nightmare and Maximum the Hormone peaked with Death Note in my mind, which I know doesn’t line up with their best material. They both got a ton of international exposure with their songs and did not follow it up as aggressively as they should have, for different but equally as valid reasons. This tour reads as if they still have their fifteen minutes, but that was back in 2006-2007. They needed a smaller tour for sure.

For what it’s worth, Nightmare has done a lot better than MtH in terms of putting out music and staying active.

Man, this sucks. I was looking forward to Warsaw. :frowning: Sucks even more if someone already paid for transportation or accommodation and cannot get a refund for that.

When I saw 20 new replys in this thread I knew it would be about some kind of cancelation  I checked the remaining ticket for the 3 germany gigs yesterday and Cologne and Munich had so much left…I was so very not surprised. It’s still sad for them

I wonder if the organizers hope for people who wanted to go to Munich and Budapest to go to Cologne now

I do know one girl who was going to Budapest and has bought a ticket to Paris instead. It seems a Spaniard I know is planning to to go Paris as well but I’m not sure about her. But from these two it doesn’t seem like the change of plans mean going to Cologne
