Oh my GAWD just back from London and am still in hype mode. Not gonna write a proper report cos my mind is still ASDDFYYY so here’s bullet points:

  • Hitsugi is so playful and silly and engaging, after the encore when they were about the leave, he came down the stage up to the audience and uh let the fans touch him/grab his pick lol, i got kinda squashed.
  • Yomi’s voice was AMAZING. Keep in mind the Finland show was just yesterday, and that he only recovered from his throat illness (sorry forgot to name) the past few years. There were no tech issues with the instruments/mics (at least none that i could notice) so the sounds were play smoothly.
  • Poor ruka looked so tired, he didn’t really engage with the audience (well, he is stuck behind the drums lol) but when they came back for encore and the members said some things in English, yomi got him to talk. He said konnichiwa lol, and then some things in Japanese (can’t remmeber or understand sorry) and after some pauses, he said yoroshiku lol.
  • sakito and ni-ya were PERFECT, they’re so cool, and at some point ni-ya said something about fisherman I can’t remember, but it was so funny.
  • vip segment! The staff were ok, the vips were let in about 6:10pm, we got in and the merch stand was there. They had some problems with the card reader so when I eventually bough some things, a lot of people were already in front of me :< the staff told us to line up properly etc, we waited a while and then the queue started moving, they let in 5 people at a time for the hi touch and 5 by 5 photo. When it was my turn, I felt the staff were quite rushed. You gave your phone to the staff (there were 3 staff so they could hold all 4 phones) and the fans sat in chairs with the members behind you. I just quickly waved and smiled, and waved again when I got up. The staff took like 5 photos so I’m happy about that!
  • the show! I was at hitsugi’s side (right) second row. The crowd was so good! I didn’t get squashed or stepped on or anything like that, although some people behind did try to squash up but I’ve learned to stand my ground.
  • the setlist was the same! I’m so sad that I missed the “kakkate koi” during Kokyutou Ranshin Tengoku… But yomi and hitsugi were great at leading the crowd to follow their hand actions (i can’t english sorry),
  • snapshots! The staff got everyone to leave the floor quite soon straight after the show, the people with snapshot wrist bands got into a room. The staff explained what’ll happen (people queue for a photo with the band, then the staff will say the member’s name for the individual photos one by one and queue again). I bought a snapshot with the band a few weeks before the show, but then when we got into the venue and after the merch stand and we were queueing for the hi touch/5 by 5 photo, I bought a snapshot for hitsugi lol. So you could either take a selfie by yourself or ask a staff to help you with your phone. It was fun watching everyone else’s photos getting taken! Some did silly poses and others were just really cool. When it was my turn, I told them thanks for coming in japanese, but idk if they heard me cos I speak too quiet ;w; but I waved and smiled, did a devil’s horn rock sign, and then got up and waved again. I wanted to exchange some more words but again the staff were kinda rushing people (at least i felt pressured to move on lol). When it was hitsugi’s turn, I was planning on asking him to do two different poses, one cool and one weird. When I gave my phone to the staff I asked him if I could do that and he said no :< Oh well. I went up and waved and told him otsukaresama deshita, and he nihongo jouzu’ed me lol. I was like no no no, and told him I’m from hong kong, and he was like ahh hong kong?! I wanted to talk more like tell him I actually live in Ireland, but again I didn’t wanna hold up the whole thing. I waved and said bye bye and then left ;___;

Btw check out my Instagram for photos!

Don’t worry he’s (probably) fine! He’s always like that lol. At least he talked!

Ok I’m relieved to hear that! I haven’t watched many recent interviews/streams of them (especially with ruka in it, it’s always just yomi and hitsugi, and occasionally ni-ya) so I wasn’t sure of his personality lol.

Woah diu, first hker vk fan I’ve come across!

Thank you for sharing!!! I’m so happy that you got such a sweet and amazing experience, your photos are also super cute!! <3

Yeah he always looks like that! He doesn’t talk much during MCs unless it’s a special occasion or a tour final or something like that.

Haha yeah i’ve never met any others in the wild either! I live in japan tho lol

You’re welcome! My words aren’t so articulate atm but I hope everyone gets to see nightmare’s live some day!
And thank you haha. Honestly I was so tempted to buy a snapshot for all individual members, but i am a poor student…

I need to find more videos of him, I feel like the other members are always having fun but he doesn’t want to join in lol.

Ahhh maybe off topic but what’s the vk scene like in hk? I’m actually considering moving back after college, and i got excited by the fact that I could just so easily fly over to Japan for lives ;w;

also would like to update that my format is definitely wrong, everyone stands in a line and yomi’s beside the fan from what I’m seeing ahahhaha

I agree with all of the above :joy: I don’t know much of Nightmare outside of their singles collection, The World Ruler, and Killer Show but they were great.

Really high energy throughout, as if it was their first or last ever concert. Yomi was surprisingly good (I remember people ragging on his decline in vocals a few years ago?).

Great crowd too, everyone was loving it.

10/10 would Nightmare again.

Same here, I was pleasantly surprised by his vocals. Ofc he used pre-recorded backing vocals, but overall he was good

If I remember correctly it was just the backing harmonies ? Like the low and high ends to the songs. But not lip syncing

Not lip syncing for sure. I don’t remember which song exactly, but I could hear his vocals being buried almost completely under the backup vocals. Both on high end and low end, yet at the same time he was singing and actually hitting the right notes albeit within his actual comfortable range

Yeah I think that was Sinners. Having the lows and highs on backing for them has always been a thing. Sakito’s fast speaking part was buried under the LOUD whisper backing track as well for Boys be Suspicious. I remember finding it a bit underwhelming because I could barely hear him

Maybe it’s different for different countries though, the formation looks so funny like a class photo lol. I also made sure to cover my face cos I didn’t wanna be in other people’s phones. Is this vip 5 by 5 photo thing common in Japan lives? Or what kinda meet and greet things do they do?

Right, I tend not to overly “idolise” celebrities so I rarely watch their non-music things, but nightmare are so funny and I actually appreciate their talent and passion (I play guitar so _). It’s nice to know their personalities or kinda get to know them outside of their music, now I’m super curious about ruka, he seems mysterious but I remember seeing videos from 10+ years ago of him also goofing around lol.

Also I have a general question, to regular concert/live show goers, how do you deal with bags and coats? I usually bring a small bag for essentials (power bank and eyedrops etc), but what about if you wanna buy merch like posters and clothes, do you just hold it during the show? And coat wise, during the winter, if you wear a heavy coat or jacket, do you just hold it during the show, or sacrifice time and use the cloak room?
I tend to overthink these things x_x

no, not common at all. regular lives for big bands like nightmare don’t usually come with photo VIPs, but if they do, it won’t be 5 by 5 (no one wants to take photos with strangers)

It’ll either be 1 member + you (called a 2shot) or all members + you (6shot).

I think there was also some backlash on Envol Prod’s Instagram page regarding the VIP 5 by 5 photos as a lot of people buying the VIP package complained that it was not communicated properly that the photos will be with other fans. Some of them are not feeling comfortable with being in other peoples shots because, for example, they might share the pics on social media. Also, some people feel scammed by this approach.

I really wish that these companies would stop using the “group photo” thing. Almost nobody likes it. Either offer a solo photo with the band as a perk, or make people pay for it and offer a merch item as a VIP perk instead.

If people came as a group, that’s one thing. But not everyone does. Some people had to travel in from another city, some people don’t have IRL VK friends. They don’t want to take a photo with four strangers.

Thanks to the reports and info guys, i’m so happy the concerts are good ;д;
Sorry if someone already wrote about this and i missed the comment, but besided the 5 by 5 photo did anyone do a selfie/snapshot thing with one member/the whole band?

I always found that particular bit silly. I wasn’t planning on getting VIP to begin witb and when the tickets dropped i took a cursory glance at VIP, and was able to see that it would be with other people. Didn’t affect my choice but it seemed pretty clearly stated to me given I only took a quick glance
