As much as I stan all the PSCompany bands, Nightmare was a HUGE gateway band into visual kei for me. They came up on shuffle for me this morning which made me wonder what my top 10 Nightmare songs are.
If you got to curate a live show by Nightmare (or any band to to make the thread more open), which 10 songs would you want them to play live?
For the sake of hypothetical flow, my dream setlist would be
The World (gotta give Deathnote it’s due)
Tokyo Shounen (so funky, love Hitsugi’s vocals on the bridge)
Dirty (omg there was period where this was the only song I would listen to on repeat)
Gianism Shichi (I know it’s not the 7th song, but this song slaps so hard. and the music video is so fire too)
Can you do it? (The start of the skinny Yomi era I think? haha)
Paranoid (The first time I heard this song I was reading Bleach and it was the Thousand Year Blood War arc and now I’m always associating this song with the manga).
Forgive me for the spam but I’ve gotta do an Alice Nine setlist too.

This was tough but I wanted a mix of instrumentals, epics and mellow songs.
The newer version of the God’s Palace would be more suitable for the tone of the first half, I don’t have a favourite between the two versions. While it serves as a first track, it always felt like a summary of Versailles. The Destiny The Lovers serves as the true intro song to rest of the setlist which focuses on loss.
Holy Grail+Created Beauty and Princess+Silent Knight pairings are similar in nature to Faith & Decision musically. They are paired to achieve an epic with the mix of an instrumentals and longer song.
Serenade and Love Will Be Born Again serves as the mellow break in between the epics.
I left out some(several) obvious picks that are normally encores or staples. For a setlist I would truly enjoy, I am leaning towards their softer/cleaner style from their later years and rounding it off to their heavier/rawer early days knowing Revenant Choir would probably be the encore.

6/ Nehankyo ( this one is more of a dream than a factual performance because damn this song is as beautiful as it’s hard to sing, which is A LOT !! )
7/ Kamiuta ( I wanna do the lil fun choreo ) ( Izumi is shining in this song !! )
8/ Omou ( the whole song is a piece of art and a performance i’d have loved to witness once in my life, literally )
9/ Ouka Ranman ( of course )
10/ Sakura maichiru ano oka de ( no other correct answer for closing the setlist honestly )
Somehow Meguru, Sai,Mateki, even Shiroi Uso and other songs should be in there too but oh well..
Charlie !!! ( i’d have added it at least 2 more times on the setlist but 10 is not a lot and i’d still want to witness other songs ) ( the end with Yuu yeaaaaaay )
