Was the same for me until the middle of my 30’s.
Depending on how much of my face is visible it most likely still were the same (I’m highly sensitive to daylight so I always wear big dark sunglasses when outside except for when it’s dark). At some point I just started taking it as a compliment.
However one time when buying cigarettes one cashier told me they didn’t think I were younger than 18 but some of those who are look older and they is checking to certainly not sell anything like that to minors.

I’m only 22 currently, but I still get estimated for 15-16 (^^;)
One time in my first year of uni when I was 19, I had someone “laugh” at the lunch table that “anyone that likes Bunny should get their hard drive checked”

No hate to anyone who likes idols and underground idols, but I absolutely can’t stand them. Male, female, doesn’t matter. I hate it when I’m going home from a vkei live and I get a flyer near the livehouse, then I take a closer look at it and it’s a men’s idol group. It makes me feel like chucking the flyer back at the guy and telling him to learn an instrument. I can’t play any instruments, but still.
Oh but what about the vkei bandmen who compose songs for idol groups? (Looking at you, IV/Mitsuru ex. ViViD.) I don’t care, lmao. He’s not a vkei bandman anymore so what he does is none of my business.
Anyway, I’m just annoyed at how many of these cookie cutter 46 groups does japan even need? And they keep making more of them! Alternative idols also annoy the heck out of me. I guess I just don’t like watching people dance lmao. insert old man yells at cloud meme

Have you not checked out BiS / BiSH? Just curious, bc this opinion puts you at odds w/ ナイトメア Ruka (assuming that’s the ruka from your name lol)
He’s done twomans w/ both groups as LSN, put out split singles w/ his group and theirs swapping covers, and even wrote a song on BiS’s best album
I mean not like everybody has to like the sound and aesthetic of every style, there’s plenty of ways of signing etc that i can’t get into, but that’s just me and there’s no disrespect.
But i never fucked w/ the whole thing of devaluing their worth as artists bc they don’t compose/write/play instruments themselves.
I don’t personally care much for watching people dance - at least not the kind of dance that’s in idol - but the ceiling for artistry is a lot higher in PVs than just simple dancing! Here’s one of my absolute favorites, きみにおちるよる by ・・・・・・・・・ - the colour grading is top tier, unmatched; the frames are composed masterfully; the song itself is a thick shoegaze piece with sung melodies that weave harmonies through multiple lines. Imho this is a great example of what bands can do with nine vocalists!
Maison Book Girl is another group i love who’s pushing out the boundaries of what the genre can be - theirs is a more mature sound that’s completely at home writing in 7/8, changing time signatures inside tracks, and writing with enough syncopation i (merely a simple guitarist) can’t keep enough track to find where measures start and end lol
All i mean to say is, it’s been a wide af genre esp since BiS with a ceiling of what’s possible in artistic expression that i don’t know is any lesser than vkei’s.

Eh? We always get the short-end of the stick when it comes to this kind of thing. Besides i remember i read some kind of study where people could be branded as a pedophile/potential pedophile based of their preference on specific features of women (ie: face, body height, or voice)
Not related but also want to know your opinion about some men being shunned for preferring attractive women and accused them of having unrealistic standards, because i’ve also become a victim of this somewhat.

Eh, if that style of music and performance isn’t for you it isn’t for you, but I don’t see any reason why spending years learning to sing and dance should make someone less worthy as an artist than spending that time learning an instrument. It’s just a different skill set.

Sleep Token just won best album at the heavy music awards in the UK and I’m so happy about it. ‘Take Me Back To Eden’ was a phenomenal piece of work with so many intricacies and is one of those pieces of work where you can find something new in a song with each listen. So glad this piece of artistry won amongst a divisive crowd who refuse to accept them as metal because they dare to infuse genres within their music.
