Today in Santiago (Chile) Kozi did an acoustic rendition of the recently viral song Chipi Chipi Daba Daba by Christell and that has to be the most outrageously random moment in my entire life but i loved every second of it, even him was laughing while doing this lmao

Whats the need for that unnecesary pettiness?, really.

CPT/medical code for “your eyes are healthily boring” (“without abnormal findings”): Z01.00

Medical code for “hit by object from burning building or structure in CONTROLLED fire”: X02.4

…guess what code i accidentally sent when billing :skull:

I’m pretty sure those are ICD10 codes. Don’t mind me, I just look at them shits all day.

One of my favorite things about ICD10 is W56.41XD, otherwise known as “Bitten by shark, subsequent encounter”. Just the implication that some unlucky sucker could get bit by a shark twice means someone had to sit there and add that entry into the mix.

Then I find this:

Look, I get bit by a shark once and I’ve learned my lesson. I ain’t ever going back to the beach. I’m staying out the sea like I ate some Gum Gum Fruit. I won’t step in any water deeper than my bath tub. He got bit twice? Must be tasty. Can’t be me. I’m a snack but not that kind of snack.

[Rant incoming]

I don’t know why people keep complaining about the lottery system for tickets when they move to japan. Surely it’s better than camping out in front of 3 PCs and 2 phones to spam the refresh button? My friend was like, “Well, back home I had the skillz so I always got good tickets.”

That’s great, but you 1. need to be on standby at the sale time; 2. there are tons of bots; 3. tickets can sell out in seconds because of resellers.

The lottery system is great because you have a bigger timeframe to enter the lottery (it’s usually a few days), it’s fair because selection is random, and now everyone has an equal amount of chance for a good ticket. Sometimes you get a good one, other times you don’t, and that’s okay.

“But REAL fans should be in front!!!” Yes, and that’s why there are multiple lottery rounds. If you’re a “real” fan, you enter the first lottery, which is usually months in advance. You shouldn’t have to fight bots or spam refresh. It’s usually the fanclub lottery, so anyone in the fanclub has the same opportunity. It’s fair.

“I shouldn’t need to pay for the fanclub to get a good ticket!!!” I get that if you can’t join the fanclub from abroad (like if the band is doing foreign shows or w/e) but like, that’s the whole point of joining fanclubs. It’s a business, after all. The bands need to know how big their live-attending fanbase is so they can book the appropriate-sized venues. The fanclub fee is basically an advance payment for better ticket numbers. It pays for itself once you go to a few more shows in the year. It literally keeps “real” fans in front. (“real”=goes to multiple shows a year and generates revenue for the artist.)

Sometimes you get no tickets after multiple rounds of lottery. That’s too bad. I’ve had it happen before. But it’s still a fairer outcome than having tickets sell out in 1 minute because of bots or connection issues.

“The lottery-based pre-sale sold all the tickets so I couldn’t get any tickets during the regular sale!!!” If the refresh-spamming is a skill issue, then why isn’t this a skill issue as well? Show up for the earlier lotteries, then.

Anyway, that’s my rant.

completely agree w/ all this - maybe it’s not the case 100% of the time but MOST of the time when people from not-Japan complain about how vkei things are done i think, hasn’t this contributed to the culture of the scene you flew around the world to see?

like people complaining about furi lol when you can just, not do it yourself - it’s not illegal!

oh yeah that too, definitely. There’s no vkei without fans doing perfect furi and headbanging in the front row. Some people from not-Japan like to be like, “oh, vkei is a music genre, this rehearsed stuff is pointless!” when it’s part of the scene.

Don’t want to do furi? Don’t do it! I don’t know why people like to complain about it being cult-y and cringe lol. Just do whatever you want and don’t bump into people. It’s not hard.

You are right! it is IC10. my brain went on vacation.

i like the one for struck by a turtle(W59.22XA), Spacecraft collision injuring occupant (V95.43XS), and art gallery as the place of occurrence of the external cause (Y92.250). the last one feels very yoshiki coded somehow

Despite the mass fear surrounding the deadly animals, the chances of being attacked and killed by a shark are one in 3.75 million, according to the International Wildlife Museum.Dec

Please, the sharks were just curious, you know how toddlers check stuff with their mouth if they are in the mood, yeah sharks are the same.

Okay on a serious note, some sharks are accounted as aggressive and more easy to bite than others, but in total your chances of getting of getting bitten are actually pretty low.
Also that dude isn’t the only one who kept going into the ocean after getting attacked by a shark once

I mean, in theory it sounds fair.

But I can’t have been the only one to notice that you can pull a number that’s pretty mid, and still have several numbers called out before yours that just…never show up. Until you keep seeing the same people still getting Saizen for some bands.

Wherever there’s a way to exploit the system, some people will. The band still gets their money if they’re popular enough to have fans that do this, but you end up with sold out shows where there are still noticeable gaps because not all of those extra tickets could be resold. The livehouse also can lose out on their cut via drink ticket sales.

This would be mitigated by switching to smartphone only tickets, or by making sure that ticket numbers aren’t revealed until the week before, like some bands have been doing.

But by making it so that the first ticket you buy is the absolute earliest you can get in, it removes the incentive for buying multiples entirely. I guess that’s up to bands to decide which they’d prefer.

Yeah, I do think that people reselling the first few numbers is a big problem. I have an upcoming show where I got a complete ass number (like 1400/1500) from the first lottery and yet twitter is full of people selling “extra” tickets. I don’t believe for a second that all of them were people who just can’t make it-- it’s definitely people getting tickets with multiple accounts.

Non-transferable smartphone tickets are great, I guess, or limit it to only 2 tickets per person and only the 2nd ticket can be transferred. I love my paper tickets, though.

And obviously only bands with lots of money can do this, but ID checking would also be great.

making it so that the first ticket you buy is the absolute earliest you can get in, it removes the incentive for buying multiples entirely

That’s true only if there’s a way to block out resellers and bots completely. And I think plenty of people buy multiples even if it’s a first-come-first-serve system.

I’m not saying I have a magical solution that can solve all problems. I just think the lottery system is better overall. I think a handful of people gaming the system is better than having the entire system be the game, if you know what I mean.

i literally stan the japanese version of erasure

why is this making me laugh so hard same @tsundairy

now for a random complaint I truly hate how the country I live in runs on clownery and the irreparable damage this did to my mind and personality :frowning: I woke up one day and they were like “X banned” I was like “ohh, a North Korea type of situation, huh? good morning world I needed the break for a week or two anyways” but it’s already been week or two and STILL in a North Korea type of situation here. I’m not gonna use a VPN and risk paying money I don’t have so like no retweeting cute anime jewelry anymore I guess. But fuck.

Between this and being so stressed out at this whole situation and life in general I went back to neopets dot fucking com for low stakes fun and lo and behold, the pet trading scene is basically dominated by brazilian it dudebros hacking into old accounts to make bank by selling pets. I. what. fuck. also they hate me bc I am not with them apparently and now I am afraid of being doxxed FOR NEOPETS DOT FUCKING COM, IN 2024. WTF. I stay inside all day precisely to avoid brazilians get the hint mfs

I feel like i’m drowning in new music. I can’t even listen to what I have faster than I get it. What a Good Problem to have.

it’s actually how i describe access to people and got my bff/her wife into the group KSKSJAJSHANS it’s also how i recommend vkei to people, i ask what type of english music they listen to and go from there

i find it works super well to help transiton vs just telling them to look it up because…that feels dismissive. they’re asking you for recs or something you’re interested in. actually at all times i have a list of like ~50 underrated (to me) vkei songs and got a few people into the genre that way

also i like the shitpost tinfoil hat theory that it was hatsune miku who got twitter banned in brazil. man i miss my neopets acct but it is literally gone forever (not on wayback machine). rip babelfish weeaboo pet names. rip my 13 year old angry about anime spellings self

YES I got the memo and it’s funnier bc it’s actually accurate. Access is so good (but also very Erasure) and yes, absolutely. lol I seldom try to get others into what I like (though by virtue of being a fangirl I talk abt what I like a lot anyways) but that seems like the best approach surely.

lmaoo not Miku … it’s funnier bc it was actually Edward Elric. my ex once posted something to the effect of ‘when we have to rely on Elon Musk to save our country we REALLY are in the bad place huh’ and this was years ago so I hate that’s still what’s goingon. rofl not the babelfish weeaboo pet names (sideglances every pet in my acc) (no judging I love them all) what about the weeaboo usernames then?? us, the real ones

a patient recognized both my gotcharocka AND dennou himeca kandi while i was taking their health history and i legit had a O _ O face when they asked “so whats your fave GR song”

uh uh uh UHHHHHHHH. UHHHHHHHHHH. am i really talking about vkei in real life? willingly? with some completely random person i don’t spend 8hr a day with and subject them to shenanigans???

it was nice being able to chat with them but man it threw me off. i was percieved. i felt like that spiderman meme with us pointing at each other. panick
