I always thought “Ver-sai” was just the Japanese way to say “Versailles”. My head cannon pronounciation for the longest time was “Ver-sail-lease”.

well well… woke up and just checked the news and make me think. I am right to dont take everything serious, bcs someone in earth will fuck my life indirectly.

I will always mod vk music into a Sonic game and my friends hate it.

I was wondering why songs were sounding like crap on youtube more than normal, it turns out stable volume was enabled by default -.-

Now I have to relisten multiple Malice mizer songs again to figure which era was the best.

A post was merged into an existing topic: Bands and Toilet aesthetics

A few years ago i was talking to an ex-bandman who wouldn’t tell me who he was. I wonder if this might ring any bells for anyone:

  • He was active in the 2000s - 2010s
  • Kote-kei vocalist who did growls and stuff
  • has live videos up on YouTube
  • has never been a session bandman
  • was popular enough to go abroad once
  • retired after his band disbanded
  • was NOT in PS Company or its affiliates

Not kote I guess especially towards the latter end of their run but otherwise kind of matches Natsuki from OZ

ah, i googled him. Unfortunately it’s not him, Natsuki became an avocado farmer, right? The guy I was talking to was a delivery driver in Yokohama.

eve of destiny would fit those three - they had a pretty big tour in europe in early 2000s, and their vocalist retired after they disbanded in 2006.

other than that, speed disk and undercode were the kote farms of mid/late 2000s that had foreign touring, and most notable speed disk-adjacent vocalists haven’t retired from performing

ok, i hadn’t heard of them!
Definitely a possibility.

He did mention that when he watched his own live video of when he performed abroad, he sounded terrible, which sort of lines up.

I was thinking this vocalist might be a tad old bc he mentioned that his band disbanded like 7 years ago (this conversation happened in 2022) but he could’ve been lying.

(He also mentioned being pretty broke + not having clout anymore, which also kinda checks out.)

oh BY THE WAY a way more likely version - it could be one of several vocaléusseseé for BLOOD who were one of the first regular european touring acts -

kiwamu is still in the scene, he runs starwave, but their final lineup doesn’t even list a fulltime vocalist

they never had a lot of domestic clout in Japan either iirc

I’d also assume he didn’t name the accurate dates either for privacy reasons or to be cutesy about his actual age so idk

there was a long dark vk drought in europe once unsraw disbanded, so 2010s would be completely out of question.

Not sure if I would describe Eve of Destiny as Kote Kei, though. And their (unfortunately very few songs) don’t really have any growls.

I think the poplarity was mostly due to Közi and because they were played in Goth Clubs

ok i’m still looking at the other vocalists of BLOOD, but timeline wise, Hayato seems the most likely.

Found this video of his other band Mr. SaTaN, and it made me giggle so I’m sharing it here:

well they had burps or whatever you’d describe that lol

I also never heard them live so there might be something resembling those in concert setting

DAMNED new single… woow :sparkling_heart: such good stuff and better than these new loud/scream kei bands!
