I feel like the best thing I’ve seen this weekend was a picture of someone planting delphiniums and heather on their windowsill… no need to leave the house if they ever need to touch grass ASAP….
I have banned @Magdalena permanently for being too combative, insulting the JRO staff after getting a verbal warning.
He is yet another idiot joining JRO and getting a permaban after only a few days. Each post he has made is like a level 1 VK fan having access to the internet for the first time. No wonder he got banned from VK reddit before.

Does every story need a villain?
Not necessarily an evil character. But yes: every story needs conflict, even if it is existential, emotional, or spiritual.
As Nietzsche said: “If there is no villain, human beings invent one.”
Living in an endless utopia?
Perhaps… but then the story stops.
Without pain, without desire, without change… there is no more narrative.
Only contemplation, or illusion.
Except… even in these utopias, the “villain” does not disappear. He is replaced by: ignorance (to be enlightened), desire (to be controlled), the ego (to be dissolved).
Even in a utopia, there are internal tensions. You don’t need a “classic villain,” but there is always something to be overcome.
There is much to question in the world of the insane. For living in the illusion of utopia in a way cruelly destroys the being little by little.

I get that a lot of the newer fans are experiencing FOMO in ways that we generally didn’t over 20 years ago, because it was less common for fans to travel to Japan for shows and most that did weren’t really visible as “VK influencers”, I suppose?
But relax, newbs. It’s a journey, not a race. There’s no need to lie about who you’re talking to, how many shows you’ve been to and whether you’ve been to Japan or not. I promise you, nobody cares. Lying just shows that you can’t be trusted.

Is it something you encountered often recently? There are always these kind of people that for some reason lie about a lot of stuff (“My dad works at Nintendo” kinda lies). So I wonder if this is a newbie thing or if these kind of people are just more visible with social media?
Because I knew more than one person back in they day who was “the secret child of a vk dude”

On Twitter, a relatively new fandom member who posts a lot about band guys contacting her was caught up in several lies, including about a trip that she claims to have taken in Sept/Oct of last year to meet a former member of Deviloof.
There have been a couple more in the past couple of years, but their stories were more banal (like, one girl claiming that she moved to Japan and one teen boy claiming to be Japanese himself).
