REITA (the GazettE) passed away 4/15/2024

I also hate people joking around or spreading rumors with this. Reita was loved and nobody from the true fans would let him be forgotten.

But I also think saying absolutely nothing makes it even worst. Even the calm ones wants to know and start asking questions. For me it’s not normal, at every single person, especially celebrities, there is at leas tiny piece of information: born this year at this place, died at that year at that place by some cause… Nobody dies for no reason at 42, he was so young. Again, not saying anything they are making it even worst and it’s hard not to start speculations.

This is why we have this as a rule.

It’s too easy for unsubstantiated rumors to turn into facts, especially across linguistic barriers. I wanna know too, but I respect the privacy of the band more. Old heads on the forum are still wondering what happened to Jasmine You. This ain’t new but it never stings less.

I employ the Death Note rule when it comes to celebrity deaths: if one is not specified, they died of a “heart attack”.

I agree on that.
Nevertheless I respect the wishes (and accept the rules) that’s why I kept my thoughts to myself from the very first second even though there are lots of them. Lots very soon and more the more time has been passing until watching the documentary. To me there’re some answers even if just vague (and nothing I plan to discuss publicly here on the forum for the reasons mentioned above and also for the reason that sadly rumors that might not be this but just thoughts and considerations get turned into facts way too easily).

I wish they gave some reason even if it just might be some cloudy ones that give a direction rather than a real cause but I doubt they ever will. There might be hints (to me the documentary is), hidden meanings but it’d be surprising to get anything directly.

As for the live being Heresy only I don’t understand that either but I gave up on trying to for a long time.
With the FC system being so common in Japan and the short time they have to organize everything there won’t even be room for the thought of making it possible for everyone. I know they aren’t into streaming for certain reasons but with that occasion I wished they’d deviate from it for once. Also I guess, if money were a reason for it to be Heresy only they could get lots more money by this. I rather think the system is so deeply inherited that they don’t even consider going beyond. Combined with Ruki’s obvious surprise about so many fans from outside of Japan being shocked and affected I really feel like they don’t even consider any overseas fans. Add to that the problem of the capacity and limiting things to Heresy only seems to make sense twice (I don’t say it does).

I can guarantee that the reason it’s FC only is because of how short notice the event is, followed by cutting demand/resale of tickets. Don’t dig too deep in to reasons as to why they did it this way, it’s simply logistics

Well it’s lottery anyway so in the end they could have gone with Heresy only though. That’s why I see the logistics just as part of the reason but not the only one.

When it comes to running an event for a band their size in such short notice, it’s literally all due to logistics. The band even said they were lucky Toyosu Pit was available at such short notice. It’s not some evil “FC love us more than none FC” ploy, trust me lmao

But where’s the difference between 3000 people applying or 10000 (made up figures)? How many people get a ticket will be the same number in the end. The lottery gets done by computers. That’s what I mean. Giving anyone the chance to apply, especially for that occasion.

Complete absolutely unsubstantiated guess but i wouldn’t be surprised if the band were on a first name basis or exchanged a few messages/comments/idk w/ FC people than their fandom at large - seems like a perfectly fine and sensible middle ground between ‘family and friends’ and ‘literally everyone, anyone’

At least personally i don’t see it at all as a prioritizing subscribers kinda thing, just feels more like keeping this attendance a bit more familiar when logistics of throwing it would be tight to begin with

also re: cause of death - i think it’s natural, fine, and human to wonder about these things internally, to oneself. There’s not the idea about lacking closure for nothing.

But speaking externally, publicly, i think that puts whoever’s speaking in a position of affecting the morale of whomever reads.

Seems the other four members know well these stories of gya writing in, going so far as calling the band and their music something they live for - i imagine they in the band are in a very tight position of managing their work/livelihood, their own personal well-being, and how these people so invested in the band might read and react.

Seems the guy wanted to be known as Reita, bassist for The GazettE - and that’s all i’m trying to know myself. Same as B-T, i trust the rest of the band knows him and his wishes way better than any of us

They could be with some but surely not every single FC member. I could join the FC today if I felt like it. But that would not bring me much closer. You could join the FC. It’s not like you need to sign a contract selling your first born to them. Just your credit card data.

With it being FC only, they know exactly how many people are subscribed, rather than demand being numerically vague if it wasn’t FC limited. They know the venue capacity, too, so they can generate ticket numbers up to the venue capacity

As far as I’ve seen other people say there are more FC members than the capacity of the venue is. That is exactly why I don’t understand it. There will be people who won’t get a ticket anyway. That is the point I’m trying to convey all the time. For a computer it doesn’t matter, if it picks 1000 out of 3000 or of 10000. But for people who could attend (regarding being close enough, no other duties etc.) but can’t afford the extra fee for the FC for example it does matter.
Limiting it to FC only makes it a choice to just a certain kinda fans. And as I’ve said, I guess that’s something that’s inherited (besides that might not even be a decision by the band members themselves). But that’s why I mentioned money in the beginning. And also that making it open to everyone for applying who could attend and additionally streaming the live as well and selling tickets for this would be a great choice money-wise for the company related stuff and for all fans not just those with the money, being close and so on.

But well, I’m tired of repeating myself. I made my point clear now hopefully.
And I’m not even angry about it or something the like. I got used to that system that holds fans with money and being close more precious than those without (again not blaming the band members themselves but the system behind that all). I don’t like it but I know it’s like this.

Let’s be honest, if you can’t afford the 5,170¥ annual fee for the fan club you’re probably not going to be paying for a flight to Japan, including accommodation, just to go to a live. Especially on such short notice. Even in Japan not everyone lives in Tokyo. If you live far away you’re still going to have to either fly or take the Shinkansen in order to see them.

Personally I don’t make much money. I can’t afford to live by myself, a car, nor eating out regularly. But the little money I do have I spend on the HERESY membership and on their merch. I scraped together as much as I could just to be able to go see them in December. It was very tough financially but I made it my priority and decided to forego many other necessities instead. I still ended up well in the minus.

I’m not saying you need to go broke in order to be a proper fan - being a good fan isn’t decided by money, but it does come down to priorities. And I really doubt many non-HERESY members will be booking expensive plane tickets to go see them last minute.

Lastly, the members are not holding this live for profit. I can’t emphasize this enough. TheZigzagoon is right, it’s about logistics. Knowing the kind of people that they are they absolutely would have preferred to include everyone for this. But on such short notice it’s hard to arrange something bigger, especially without it becoming total chaos. Again, they will most likely try to secure a larger venue for Reita’s birthday next year.

On a more touching note, I came across this sweet vlog from someone who lives in Japan. You get to see fans gathering around a big screen in shinjuku where MASS tour final is being promoted.

That fan club fee turns out to be about 3 bucks a month dude. It’s literally cheaper for an entire year than a single ticket to any of their concerts if someone can’t afford that they definitely can’t afford to go to the show in fact if they can’t afford $3 a month they can’t even ride the train once.

The MC sections of the concert on 5.27 will be streamed for Heresy and GazettE MOBILE members with archive available through June 4th.

Apparently ppl have been tryna resell tickets to the live…

Oof.

Also I finally caught up with the latest news. I hate that even the livestream is only for specific members but i can imagine the service would legit crash if everyone got access.

I have to believe now that once the live is complete and properly mixed, we’ll get a proper DVD release.

I see a possibility for that since in the first announcement about the streaming for FC and mobile members they stated they only can stream the MC’s due to right-related reasons.
