Will be happy if they keep making showa pop VK bangers forever tbh
I enjoyed Moan a lot, but I feel like the band is so much more than Showa pop so I’m hoping the album will have a good blend of all the styles they can do.
That said, I’ll probably be playing this on loop today.
I’m not impressed by MOAN. I dig the style itself but the song isn’t as catchy as it could be, and some parts of it just sound downright irritating (which isn’t something I usually say about sukekiyo). The preview for the other track sounded cool enough tho.
this is definitely the weakest of their retro pop bangers, but I’m still into it
At least it doesn’t have a 40 second fade-out.
The first time I listen to it, it gets me the “Dorothy” vibes!
I really dig this song, it’s really catchy!
Sounds so dumb lol
Well, this is a huge departure from INFINITUM.
Was kinda hoping for some more cursed video material like Waizatsu.
What is this? Retro Kei? Throwback Kei? TRON Kei?
It’d be funny if this is the only coherent song on the album and the rest is absolute chaos.
Yeah this is their weakest “80s retro pop” song yet, hate to say it. Verses are ok to be a bit boring/weak in a song but then the chorus has to make up for it by being really good & catchy. The chorus in moan is weak AF in my opinion. I thought the last single mosaic shoujo (was it?) had a weak chorus as well.
Also, the part with kyo chanting or whatever you would call it is super irritating after a few listens, lol. They didn’t consider that people would think so? They could have had it but only once in the song, and make it like 80% shorter… Won’t add this song to my playlist.
Feels like its time to end this “retro pop era” now. TBH out of them I only really liked Candis. But they saw how that one blew up even going kind of viral, and just couldnt let go of the concept, I guess.
What do you guys say after relisting to it a few times? Has it grown on you?
Ill take Shodou with Petit Brabababaabacon any day over this one.
Candis was their third J-pop song after Dorothy and Valentina. They’re not chasing viral success, this is just the direction they’re going right now. I don’t think every song will sound like this - but given that they’ve been putting songs like this out for five years now I think it’s safe to say this isn’t “just a phase”, and they’re probably gonna keep doing them.
Still think the song is great. I mean, it’s been two days lol. I like the part where Kyo squeaks, I’ve been humming that part when I’m alone a lot.
Yes, the album will have lots of variety, not just city pop songs
Yuchi has said this on his blog, some songs are even throwback to Immortalis era
I stopped to buy from CDJAPAN… It’s too expensive. I tested using proxies services and it’s better and little cheaper. Fromjapan proxy u can change the value of the invoice to don’t pay a lot of tax to “Zoll”.
The curious thing is every company like CDJAPAN, Yesasia, from Japan… Has their own prices of the shipping cost. Some are really expensive to ship to Germany. Kind of abusive prices. Like DHL is expensive but FedEX is cheaper and faster.
FedEX pay for u the taxes from and then u can Pay later :). DHL take 1/2 extra days to get your package and u need pay in cash at your place… there is nothing online pay like FedEX.
I like MOAN more and more every time I listen to it. I wasn’t overly stuck on it at first listen, but I’m really enjoying it at this point. What made it really stick for me was listening to it in the context of their other pop offerings rather than a standalone. At this point I really like it, as well as enjoying their direction generally.
At first I was a little offended by how inoffensive MOAN is compared to their usual output but I have to say that I’ve come to enjoy these calmer, more polished tracks, it’s a welcome change of pace. Don’t get me wrong, I love when they go batshit crazy and super experimental, it’s their brand and it’s what makes them unique but it doesn’t always pan out and some songs end up sounding a little disjointed and fragmented as a result.
I’m curious to see how well MOAN integrates into the flow of the album tracklist, although I’m pretty sure it’ll be a nice breather sandwiched in between more adventurous tunes.
Of course you can pay Zoll online if you’re using DHL, but only with DHL Express.
The good thing about CDJapan is that they get the items earlier than their release date, which has often resulted in people overseas receiving the releases on the same day that they’re released in Japan.
And I mean, that is pretty much unmatchable. No proxy can beat same-day-delivery.
I like the song, but Mosaic Shoujo is still my favourite so far.
Honestly I mainly hyped for the studio version of 論外な生き物として
In my experience this worked at the time I bought Hakusei from Plastic tree. It was fedEx, but with DHL Express or DHL nothing changed, it was still slower and took longer (difference of one extra day).
Today there is no need to want to have a release in hands as fast as possible, with digital versions. You don’t have to wait your CD arrive to hear. From what I have realised during these last years.
am I in the minority for thinking moan is excellent? Yes we’ve heard it before, but the songwriting is tight af.
