I would take it to mean that they’re going to make it through 2023 as planned, but maybe take a break from their activities until he recovers - which would make sense as they already paused activities in a major way once and suffered the loss of their bassist too. I can understand why they wouldn’t want to replace yet another member.
So less of a pressuring thing and more of a sympathetic thing. I just hope that if they have any songs left to produce and release, that they actually do that instead of shelving them.
I finally got my copy of this live. The first thing that was immediately noticeably was how much Yuki was looking down and almost like he is really focusing on his motions rather than the performance. It was a little disheartening to watch but he eventually got a bit looser, looking around, headbanging halfway through the live.
Great live overall, the stage isn’t as epic as some of their previous lives but gets the job done I guess.
Also this 40 year old man in a beautiful dress is very cute when puffing his cheeks
It’s not just Yuki. Everyone seems kinda bored. Honestly, they look so stoic; even more than their usual stance. It might be because of the whole audience wearing masks and not being able to talk or scream. That can affect the whole mood and atmosphere, I suppouse.
I wonder how much of the stiffness is all of them just hyper focusing on playing it back right while also staying in time. Some of these cats haven’t played these songs in a while and they’re not easy.
Can they find anyone that can keep up with him? Low key YUKI has been one of the best metal drummers, let alone visual kei drummers, for quite some time. Serious blow to the scene, but he needs to do what’s best.
Extremely sad news that someone as nice and talented as him has to retire. It will be hard to get used to a new face in the band after all these years.
