Guys please vote if you want a 1 month deadline or a 2 month deadline. Also vote if you want to record two tracks or three.

If you need help mixing watch the videos I sent above or message me for help. I will not do any professional mixing, just the very light compressor, reverb and eq as that’s all I do for my own covers.

I voted 1 song but if 2 or 3 win, maybe it could be like up to 2/3? Cuz i’m only gonna barely have time for the one lol but if others can do more then more power 2 u!

I voted 2 songs. I think it makes this more challenging but not to the point of being totally demotivating or enervating for those who haven’t practiced much yet. There’s still a long deadline awaiting. It’s all about motivation and time management.
Remember you don’t even have to record complete tracks.
I wanted to maybe sing one soft kei song and one higher energy rock song, so two songs allows me to show a bit more of my personality and style than just 1 song. I don’t know how to better word that.
2/3 as in you can choose to record 3 if you want to? I don’t see why not, but it might advantage certain people more?

Okay I think we should start because some people want a 1 month deadline but we’re doing 2.
Deadline will be February 17th.
Rules are to record two vocal covers of VK songs. Each cover must be at least 1 minute in length. All languages are allowed. Vocal effects are allowed within reason. Once done submit the files to me via DM or over Discord (takingabreak2 is my name there). I will covert the files if needed.
Once all is done I’m planning to compile all the covers together in a neat well-formatted post with a poll. Also contestants obviously can’t vote for themselves, but that goes without saying. 3 votes can be cast in total per person.
Edit: Feel free to tell me the names of the songs being covered in each track and the order you want your tracks to be posted in.

I think that deadline might be feasible for me but I’m not sure yet depends on what happens when I move in February. I’ll keep you posted
My plan was same. One track would be soft and nice ballad and second track would be something crazy to show more distorted vocal techniques.
This will show wide variety of music taste and especially what i have tried to learn over all this years of (not good) singing XD

Im borrowing a recorder but it’s kinda old fashioned the way I’m doing this. I will see but I don’t know if the recorder will be high enough quality so I might be able to participate depending on the results tomorrow. If not then I might have to try the original plan which is is more money and time consuming

This is a cool idea, I’m interested in this! Question though, would making my own instrumental instead of just isolating the instrumental tracks on the original recording be allowed? It wouldn’t stray from the original song or anything, like a typical YouTube cover. I understand though if it’s not allowed since it’s a vocal focused contest, it’s just that I like going the extra mile and isolated instrumental tracks sound a little awkward at times (unless the technology has gotten better, it’s been a while lol) but I’ll see what I can do
Rules said nothing about that, so you can do whatever you like about this, I guess. My first idea was record my own instrumentals (maybe without adding some innovations to tracks).
Until it sounds like visual kei, it’s ok.
