Currently playing Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth with my gf. Addicted to Ace Attorney as a whole
thinking of finally starting ghost of tsushima. also super excited about the elden ring dlc. only 4 more months to go.
Tomb Raider 2 remastered
God knows how child me got through this game but it’s definitely a step up in difficulty compared to the first
finished Lords of the Fallen (2014). it’s an early souls clone, with just a few interconnected locations and like 10 bosses total. i didn’t expect it to be a masterpiece so i mostly enjoyed it.
also recently finished The Last Faith and really loved it. indie metroidvania/souslike which is pretty much a mix between Blasphemous and Bloodborne. it’s a bit rough around the edges and some parts could’ve been implemented better but for what it’s worth it’s a very solid game. can definitely recommend it if you like aforementioned games.
final combat simulator vii rebirth: the dawn of chadley
Final Fantasy VII just came in… But I’m STILL playing FF16. I gots no time these days @_@
How far are you into FF16?
Literally about the fight the final boss for the final time. Then of course, 20 boring-ass side quests make their appearance, lol. I love this game, but these side quests @_@
I finished my Elden Ring NG+8 playthrough the other day. I stopped leveling at level 501 where all the stats hit the soft caps so that I can use every weapon without having to respec ever again. It takes some time for co-op matchmaking though.
From NG+7 onwards, it feels like you must have “Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman” equipped all the time to prevent a one-hit kill regardless of your max HP.
Ah ok you’re at that part. Yeah, the last stretch drags on a bit. But I will say, some of the best quests are in this part of the game. Have fun killing god!
After a year I finally decided to go for all endings of Nier Replicant ver 1.22. The final ending man. It hit me like a ton of iron ores and used coloring books. It resonated with me on a soul level. I don’t think I’ve encountered such a beautiful sentiment executed in such a powerful way in a video game before.
Like all most other Yoko Taro games, it took way too much effort to get there. But, it felt so amazing to experience first hand. I think Nier Replicant is my favorite video game story as of right now.
Playing Path of Exile with my spouse!
Gave the Stellar Blade demo a go. It’s actually quite fun. Also happy to see some love for a Korean game studio.
I’ve been on the grind playing Tekken 8 ranked since release, a lot of busted characters atm but it is what it is, nothing will stop me playing a new Tekken game
Finished Otogi: Myth of Demons on Xbox. It’s a fun hack and slash by FromSoft with a Japanese theme. The controls are kinda janky and there’s a floatiness to the movement. Which is fine most times except when fighting against bosses. My goodness the camera loves to fight you. Pretty challenging game too. You die in a few hits, status ailments hit you hard, and you need to worey about things like weapon vitality. Classic FromSoft I guess.
I played on the Series X and the boost to resolution and colors is really nice. There’s something really special about the art style. It’s like playing those CG demonstration videos for old consoles like the N64 and Playstation 1. Textures sometimes have this super smooth and yet detailed look that’s highly stylized yet really unrealistic looking. The game is a looker.
Meanwhile in The Lands Between.
I have been playing co-op in Elden Ring lately to collect Rune Arcs (almost 300 so far). There was a time when I was helping someone beat Godfrey, thinking that it should have been easy because their playthrough wasn’t NG+7. The first phase went easily like a pro, but as soon as the second one started, my controller ran out of battery !@#@!#$. What a perfect timing! The host was like WTF are you doing bro!?
Some people summoned me and then jumped off the cliff on the way to the boss fight lmao. That was hilarious.
Played through Silent Hill: The Short Message yesterday. And it was, kinda surprisingly ok? The writing is NOT good and the Silent Hill story is so badly integrated. But for a 2 hour romp in a creepy building with a well designed monster it was entertaining. Not bad for a free piece of side content.
I will say, the messaging of the game is about as subtle as a crowbar to the shin. A farcry from the storytelling from the first 4 games. Even if it’s only 2 hours. Could just be that I’m not their target audience. But I also don’t think the main audience for the series is 18 year old high school students going through bullying.
I only see one mention of Baldur’s Gate 3 here and I’m appalled. I’ve already gone through full cycle of depression and recovery over my love for a fictional character that doesn’t exist and having to accept that my standards for a man will never be met and I’m okay being alone forever.
Why isn’t anyone else letting this man ruin their life??
Tekken 8 for me! A visual slap and a great gameplay.
