You can play the DLC in the first playthrough as soon as you beat both Radahn and Mogh anyway. Mogh is supposed to be a late game boss according to the difficulty although you can do White Mask Varré’s quest to fight him in the early game. You should have Purifying Crystal Tear activated to negate the curse effect during the boss fight. It will be easier to beat Mogh.
It’s recommended to be around level 150 or even 200 with late game items, such as essential talismans, incantations, and sorceries depending on your build. With the right equipment, it will be helpful in the DLC.
In The Land of Shadow, which is a complete separate world, your character damage dealt and damage taken will be reset to 0 regardless of your rune level. You will have to collect Scadu Fragments and Revered Spirit Ashes to level up your character and your summon in the DLC (max 20/10 respectively).
So no need to start the DLC in a NG+ if you’re in the late game where you have got many items to choose from for your build.
Thanks for the super detailed response! I’ve pretty much explored most of the in betweens and have just started the Altus Plateau so I should be fairly ready for Mogh. I’m right around 80 or so, so it looks like I’ve quite a bit of leveling to do. But ok, great. I may end up tackling the DLC on a new game+ anyways so I can view the main ending at least once and finish the story sooner rather than later. Thanks for the tips!
It’s also possible to go into dlc after you’ve beaten the final main boss. You can choose not to go into NG+ right away(the option will always be present at roundtable) and just tackle dlc instead.
As for topic of Promised Consort Radahn, damn, this boss is hard! Never had I thought that in my entire life I’ll have to succumb to use a stupid shield in a souls game. This is truly embarrassing. After around 30 shieldless attempts I had to admit that my typical keep-on-rollin’ strategy is beyond my skills with this boss. Shield is definitely a much safer bet and even though I died like 10 times with it, I did manage to get him down to 25% health, while without the shield even 50% seemed impossible. It’s kinda funny that all the other bosses from dlc took me less that 5 attempts to beat(except Messmier, who took 9) and this one is just insanely harder that the rest.
Oh that’s awesome! I’d like to linger around and finish up any discovery I haven’t done at that point and it’d be nice not having to repeat some fights.
Lovely. I can’t wait to throw myself against the wall. I’m very shield friendly and have been using all sorts of shields. The jellyfish one is my favorite so far. Using a greatshield does trivialize a lot of fights though since most enemy attacks, even bosses, will recoil when they hit. That plus a greatsword has been my build. Bloodfang (I think it’s called?) is great too since it has a bleed effect.
i play final fantasy 14 religiously. and if i can stand it (and before i get bored with a slew of 1+ hour long questlines), i play genshin impact. i just heard final fantasy 16 is coming out on pc soon though, so i’ll give that a try as well
I finished my Elden Ring NG+12 the other day. Currently playing the DLC to collect what I missed from the quests in my first DLC playthrough. I thought I could do a no summons run, but it’s not possible from Messmer onwards.
still Genshin and Project Sekai, though taking into account that Project Sekai is worsening my wrist joint issues and next year’s banners were planned so that I as a f2p player won’t be able to keep collecting all Akito and Toya cards no matter what I’m looking at my acc like "I’m unemployed and you’re not gonna last long with me … " . Genshin is fine for now but I’m pretty sure they’re gonna pull this in 2026 the latest
this time last year wild horses could not drag me away from genshin. but i was tired of looking up videos on quests, spending an hour on the quests and receiving such minimal reward. then i finally pulled for itto in march and just…stopped playing. maybe i’ll return because the rewards are good/i don’t want to spend any more irl money on that game lol
my humble initial Genshin objective was to collect every 5* Hawt Bishie as a f2p who was a year too late and I am finally doing well at 12/17 and 270 primos I guess but my urge to explore is Gone. I am lazy, stop trying to make me learn new mechanics I just want Plains and Same Old, bring me back to Mondstadt NOW ggggrhhhhhhhrrrrrrr. Also the lore has been cooking for so long its burnt now, seems like they made a mess with a bunch of writers and then left it to AI lol
Just soloed Radahn in NG+12 DLC+ in one single attempt with no surprise because I have fought him over a thousand times as a co-op. But this time I made a copy of save data for practicing with him without a shield before beating the DLC.
i also kinda miss monstadt, and simpler plotlines. i made it to sumeru and found cutscenes were making my eyes glaze over. idk some of the archons are interesting, i did like liyue a lot. then, the interest died. just give me simple and straightforward, i am too old to be doing that much thinking anymore
Anyone tried Once Human? I read that for every round there is a limit of xxx days or months for u to establish and once it times up everything u built goes back to ground zero. Is it still the same now? I wanted to start playing but hesitated cos of this limit.
I’ve just wasted 2 hours of my life trying to get the platinum trophy on Tormented Souls. I literally died before the killing blow on the final boss during a no healing, no saving, 3 hours or less speedrun
