Finished The Messenger recently (which was great) and now playing Ender Lillies and loving it! The gameplay is quite typical metroidvania, yet it still has a lot of small things which make this game stand out among others. Bosses are also quite challenging (tho if you are also a metroidvania veteran they won’t be that challenging) and really fun to fight against.
Going through Castlevania Curse of Darkness. 3D Castlevania games just aren’t very good. This one is probably the best one I’ve played, but it’s just a slog to explore. The story is par the course for a Castlevania game so not super interesting and the combat is pretty rudimentary.
There are some interesting systems like a steal mechanic. You have to figure out what triggers the steal window for each enemy. And of course you collect and level up little demon helpers.
Currently as always balls deep in heroic raiding on World of Warcraft and enjoying the relaunch of new world while dabbling the pc version of Final Fantasy 16.
I’m back on RE4make. I’m liking it a lot now on NG+ with the higher difficulty, and with my expectations for the presentation/story being tempered. I picked it back up around chapter 4 & forgot that voices come out through the controller, so it scared the shit out of my when Sadler first did that.
@Missa I too am playing through RE4make. I’m so used to the original on the gamecube that I’m not sure how I like this one yet. Obviously mechanically and visually it’s an upgrade. But the tone is different. All I can say is Ashley went from being annoying to <3<3<3<3<3<3
I’m currently playing the new Stardew Valley update and also trying to play Animal Crossing in Japanese for reading practice purposes. It’s prime cozy game time as the weather gets colder
I’m about to start Elden Ring NG+13 soon after having played NG+12 for around 300+ hours. It’s the longest playthrough I have ever played. Mostly to farm rare weapons, shields, and armors and to activate all the summoning pools out there which are now carried over to NG+. Basically, you have to open the entire world map to do so.
I’m trying to collect every single item in the game. If it’s weapons, I’ll collect two each for power stance unless it’s bows, cannons, and Serpent-Hunter which you’re allowed to have only one per character. If it’s armors that have an alternate version, I’ll collect both of them each. Thanks to this 100% checklist, so I know what I’m missing. Still not 100% but almost complete so far. I should have them all in the next playthrough.
The rarest drops for me practically were Noble’s Estoc and Noble’s Slender Sword. And the worst farming experience was to farm Envoy’s Greathorn at Miquella’s Haligtree lol.
Instant fall to your death in every direction around you Annoying bubble blowing enemies everywhere The enemy is about as far away from a site of grace as you can get Super low drop rate
Infinity Nikki,
Genshin Impact no waifu challenge (impossible),
just finished 2nd co-op playtrough of BG3 with my GF, we’re already planning 3rd after the January update.
Almost finished with Breakdown for the original Xbox. It’s a…weird game. But it has a lot of charm. It’s like if you combined the level design of Half-Life, the punching combos from God Hand, and some H.R. Giger for aesthetics. It’s really unique.
It’s janky as hell but actually designed in a way where you have to play the game carefully and strategically. It’s almost like a puzzle game in that way because you can’t just shoot your way through everything. That made the game actually quite engaging for me.
The story is corny as hell, but I didn’t mind at all. Typical superhero needs to save the world kind of stuff.
The music though. It’s surprisingly really good. It’s a mix of electronic tracks, army themed compositions, and also a lot of silence in between.
