Who are the MOST good looking bandmen in your opinion?

From the manliest to the girliest:

Hazuki from lynch (He has that aura of authority)

Subaru from Royz (As a straight guy I think he is really hot for some reason. My gf says he’s meh)

Hina from Kebyo (I would totally go gay for him although I have no idea how he looks like without makeup)

I said I won’t put anyone in here, but I am reconsidering, because I gotta admit I am a little frustrated at ya all considering only VK bandomen apparently as handsome.

Thank you hehehe.

I think there are some photos of the GazettE without make-up here and there, as well as other bands. There are actually a few videos of bandmen without make up on YouTube. Old ones.

Thanks for the tip AiNex, I just had a look. Found a few.

It’s a rather surreal experience I must say. Many look nothing like I thought :flushed::laughing:
While looking, I came across a Jiluka video also from a while back, and for example shocking how Ricko looks like without makeup :flushed:
I think he must have had some work done as well since.
It’s hard to tell.

I always focused on the music of the bands rather than appearances, so I’m also just realising how I haven’t had a proper look at most of them throughout the years I’ve been listening to these bands.

Hyde Takarai, Gackt and Kuloe. Those three are my top. Not also beautiful but charming. Hyde is both beautiful and attractive, Gackt is overdoing it, but he is a gem. And Kuloe… Well, he have classic beautiful face and is a little crazy, that do the magic.

What would you all guys say about Kamijo?

Kamijo is good looking, but as Gackt he is posing and showing off too much. This is the opposite of attractive to me and turns me off.

They look like different people, right? I remember being surprised back then when I saw Ruki of the GazettE hehehe.

I’m also like you, I don’t really care about the appearance, but if the music is enjoyable. ^^ Appearance can be some bonus of a kind in MVs and lives, I guess.

Well for me personally I can’t like an artist’s music if I don’t like the person. Gackt is one of the most beautiful japanese men I know, but the way he is flaunting with it is something I can’t stand. Hyde is beautiful too, and Hyde is introvert and a shy one, when he is not on the stage. This I find cute. I also like his style and voice, and ideas and honestly it’s a mix of many stuff to make me like someone. Pretty face isn’t everything.

Ruki is another thing. I really liked him, there was a fight in my head, Ruki or Uruha, but now since he started posing too much too, well…
Here I need to say I like vkei style, less or more. Even in american bands there was that glam rock since forever, men dressing like women, it’s always been controversial and questionable. Thing is I guess you should know where to put the line and be yourself again.

Do you mean gackt before all the plastic surgeries, or after?

Yes, I 100% agree.
My concern is that the looks they pull off with costumes, make up, colour contact lenses and professional styling etc. is not sustainable in real life / everyday life to the wast majority of average people, but that’s the impression they give with the pictures published. Just like celebrities and models I guess. So it needs to be looked at with perspective.
After checking out the makeup-free pictures, I concluded that the vast majority of them are average looking and nothing special, yet in many cases there’s a cult like following for their looks. I think I’ll stick to listening only

Before or after, Gackt was a diva. He isn’t that old to keep performing, I assume his voice is down or he is so different that he doesn’t dare get in front of the cameras without his improvements.
This isn’t contest of a beauty and perfection, nobody’s perfect. I find this in many japanese - so obsessed to fit in the perfect model. What for? Honestly I love, for example, Ruki with all those makeup and accessories on him, but without them he is a handsome man. Was.

Anyway, japanese people have different face structure than european, and it’s not ok to try copy them. If everybody are the same, where’s the fun of it?
I feel not ok when everybody are trying to be the same, all the vk bands, all the vocalists, all the girls and woman bands… Same style, same movements, same everything. Anime stuff is just the same - same character with the same story over and over again. Nobody asks you to have pink hair and green eyes, the charm of japanese is their specific eyes, face and dark hair, enough with the hello kitty stuff.

If you saw Kamijo irl without all the makeup, lightning and photoshopping he would look like your average japanese guy, he could even stand out as a bit less of an hottie than you would imagine, and of course hes wearing one of those stupid vk-beanies for sure, that all vk hotties do when they are in “off mode”.

My personal guess is that hes wearing the beanie and sunglasses tho, every single time he leaves his home. 95% of all vk hotties have this look in da real life.

Yup. The kings of deception :+1::laughing:

Spot on. I think it’s also especially harmful to promote these “beauty standards” to younger people.
Apparently many people with Asian ethnicity are pressured to have eyelid surgery or use eyelid tape. Also the colour contact lenses are permanent wear for many. Instead of embracing their eye shape and eye colour, they are making every effort to alter it.
The styling and clothes/costumes are often cookie cutter too.
I believe in freedom of expression and choice when it comes to everything, but influencing others into this while taking away the appreciation of the authentic Asian appearance is not cool. And when they all copy each other like they do, it’s no longer about individuality anyway, the purpose of “looking different” and “looking special” is diminished.

Probably 100% weird personal preference but I think Yasuno is so attractive. He just seems like a happy person and I relate to someone who is genuine instead of playing cool all the time. Smiles, cheekbones, lanky, willing to have pictures out there with no/minimal makeup. I’m into it.

That’s not to say I don’t enjoy sultry stage personas but I would feel like such a dweeb next to them.

So what? Once you go on tv with tons shit on you, and after that you are so ashamed that you hide under mask and sunglasses with a size of a house? Yes, I think Ruki looks good without makeup, at least normal. Japanese have smaller eyes because of the covering upper eyelid, but that doesn’t make them less pretty. He reached the point to cut his face to fit in our ideas for pretty. I stop listening the band after I saw what he turned into, I really dug this guy.
Makeup, with men and women, is to outpoint your good features and cover what is not so perfect, not to turn you into a different person. And look isn’t everything, it’s so superficial to like someone because of his look. After a few years all of us will get old and wrinkled, so what’s all this about?

P.S. Let me tell you that I really disliked my nose. I thought it’s too long, not a snub nose. Then I found the person I loved and respected more than anything has the same nose. And it used to fit perfect on his face. Since then I never complaint again of my nose and I realized it’s my own.
People use to deal with noisy houses, cheap cars, bad clothes just because they are their own, to take care of them and love them. Now we reached the point where we need to looks like someone else and we are ready to cut part of our bodies just to fit. If that’s not insane I don’t know what is.

This is what i meant by “mommified” on my previous post. I would rather have him as a cool big bro than a single mother with high libido. Not sure exactly when, but his DIM-Toxic looks is pretty much what i wanted to look like at his age at the time (27-29) (Specifically The Invisible Wall and the Suicide Circus) he’s exactly what i called a chick magnet at that time. I went through every GazettE’s MV in a reverse order (because i was a fairly new fan) and when i reach the Suicide Circus i was like “Who tf is this? That looks more achievable” the most confusing thing about this is that the rest of gzt members still pretty much the same (It could’ve been bias, It could’ve been memory issue) I mean Aoi, Reita and Kai is still pretty much the same in my eyes. (Uruha i think had some job done, but i’m not sure) thank god some of you posted some off makeup bandmen image, it kinda breaks the illusion, but at least it show that everyone can at least attempt look like VK bandmen with just a very thick makeup, and not just genetic factor nor plastic surgery.

Now, i wanted to say that i’ve been going on hard on anti-Gazette tangent ever since MASS release (see: Unpopular Opinion thread) but i don’t hate them, i just becoming very jaded at their musical direction. (However, let’s wait for preview shall we?)

I’m not quite sure are you for or against their look.
I really like Suicide circus Ruki. Uruha is all the same, never changes.

What to say, since Ninth things went wrong, in my opinion.

You can’t even compare this

with this

He looks like ugly woman now. And what for? How is that pretty or attractive?
Worst part is some “sworn” fangirls jump like damn snakes when you dare mention it. Ok, his face, his business, but come on, this is gone way too far!
He was handsome man, stage is a stage, this is insanity.
