Not being disrespectful but I always thought Pata would go first based purely on his appearance. He always looks…sickly to me.

Must say I always felt the same way, specially since wasnt Pata the one having (serious) health issues these past years?

Pata and Yoshiki are still going strong, and I hope Yoshiki isn’t having beef with Toshi still.

I’m shocked.

YOSHIKI and Toshi only correspond through their lawyers. Toshi is no longer under contract with YOSHIKI’s company that owns the rights to X Japan after the falling out in 2018. HEATH and SUGIZO are the only two remaining members/employees of X Japan and HEATH is now gone so X Japan is literally YOSHIKI with SUGIZO as a contracted musician. It’s believed that Pata’s contract lapsed at some point as well. YOSHIKI could literally decide next year to tour with X Japan and have an entirely different lineup because he bought the others members out of their shares of the company that they were under before YOSHIKI formed his own office.

TLDR: YOSHIKI IS X Japan and owns all the rights to it and every member has been contracted to his company since 2017 with only SUGIZO left on contract which is why they perform together sometimes.

Glad someone laid bare the current reality of this “band”…

Weren’t all of the members basically contracted to his company since the reunion in 2008?

There were lots of articles regarding Heath having contract issues less than year after they started performing again as summarized by this forum back then:

"“After HEATH unilaterally informed the agency about the dissolution of the contract, he demanded to pay him a fee directly from organizing committee, dealing with the group management.”

What compelled HEATH to resort to such actions?

After the reunion of the group, in addition to agencies with which each of the group members entered into a contract, there is “X JAPAN Production Management Committee”, which is engaged in the management of the group as a whole."

All in favor of a new X Japan album and tour, say Aye!

Honestly I think you’re right. That sounds about right. I literally forgot the reunion was all the way back in 2008.

Not sure if I should post this here or in his own thread, but YOSHIKI tweeted this:

I’m in NY now.
It seems that some news about the members has come out, despite the wishes of their relatives.
I am currently talking with the relatives about what has happened so far and what will happen in the future.
Please give me some time.
I’ll tell you how I feel after I finish it.

If these contract issues really did happen behind the scenes, it didn’t take long after they restarted:

Late 2007 - IV comes out on the soundtrack for Saw IV.
March 2008 - first 3 shows at Tokyo Dome
May to Jan 2009 - 4 more concerts (hide memorial live, New Year’s Eve live, 2 in Hong Kong)
Feb 2009 - Rumored Heath contract disputes on the eve of more Tokyo Dome shows.

In November 2008 it was announced HEATH would play a show in Paris in spring 2009 and it never happened it seems.

AYEEE!!!

When there’s BIG money involved, it never takes very long.

Official announcement tomorrow
