DADAROMA members new band "THE MADNA" has formed and mini-album "Beautiful inferno" release

I actually had completely zero expectations from them - the debut look was much more interesting than all their music so far, I just don’t see them going anywhere with this softcore, play it safe sound.

Initial L evidently aimed to graduate from the indie scene fast, and they pretty much flopped before covid hit VK really badly. they had enough time to get established, and I was under impression that the fandom interest for their style was just not there?..

I didn’t care for DDRM either by the way, there’s something in this wave of indie faves I just don’t vibe with at all.

Its ironic how my expectations when these guys first announced they were a thing were totally opposite of what they are. Haha. I was expecting something totally unique that’ll bring fresh life into the scene and be a band worth keeping an eye on and so far they have proved to not be that at all. Haha

So great. I’m happy to get such a successor for Neverland. Dada stans will not be happy lol

I can actually live with this EP, there are some pretty good tracks, but I still have expected far more from them, something along the lines of a Dadaroma rebirth but with a more oldschool glam rock (especially from tomo) like concept, in comparison to Dadaromas Dadaism. But we got only pop rock, even when good.

Sounds pretty good and imo the band is a good new addition to the lighter side of vkei. Even though the songs sound typical lol.

Also littleHEARTS. is the label? I know they have stores but I don’t recall a music label.

Damn it sounds just as bad live

The dude can’t sing for shit. It’s not even about hitting the notes — it’s about actual singing.

Hope in the other songs he is not as bad as in this one.

I don’t know what y’all are talking about. I think he sounds fine but hey I’m not into vk or this band because vocalists sound good.

But hey, to each their own. We all like different noises and not everything is for everyone.

I mean, we as v kei fans are used to singers not hitting the notes. It’s more of a signature of the genre.

The issue with Madna for me is that the dude is not singing at all — he’s just saying stuff.

I wonder what was the logic behind DDRM guys teaming with this frontman in a scene where vacant vocalists really aren’t a rarity.

I watched that strange live, and I can’t say I understand their appeal any better now???

Obviously the live recording doesn’t do it justice but for a song that has so much going on this is really lacking energy.

The actual EP is really good, tho. Like this song is objectively the worst thing on it. It doesn’t have structure or direction and clearly it’s impossible to make better or even listenable live. But like, the Rest of their songs on that EP are quite good. Just…. Nothing at all like DDRM…

Very pleasantly surprised by this EP. Great melodies, some nice little bits of heavy flavor here and there, but overall just solidly written pop-rock tracks. If I’m being entirely honest, I’d say most of this is better than whatever DDRM was up to in the second half of their career, but that whole clown rock thing was never my bag anyway.

Really excited to see where these guys go - I think I’ll have this EP on rotation for awhile.

It’s all good though. I base a singers entire repertoire on one song that’s mostly spoken on the track as well.

I liked Ryouta in Neverland and I like him in this band. And again, different sounds appeal to different people. I ain’t here to argue about it.

don’t judge them by this one song. lol. they are so energetic during other songs! it’s just the way Ryota sings in MAD GAME. he has many voices. from childish voice to deeper voice. ya’ll should try listening to NEVERLAND songs like 『嘘と月』, “sorrow ghost”, “borderline”, “butterfly”, “Dummy” etc.

they will blow your minds! just wait :sunglasses:

Listened to the whole EP and honestly it didn’t do much for me really. Not bad but just nothing crazy good either.
