DIR EN GREY New Single "The Devil In Me" Release

Given pretty much every single since STU has sounded like [insert generic and formulaic DEG song here], I’m expecting more of the same.

Could you describe the formula for me?

Please stop trolling. Come to your own conclusions.
And change your username. It’s referring to a racist thing. Not cool.

It’s fine I didn’t think you would be able to answer. And I’m not going to justify my username to a TIW hater.

Let’s not develop this further

oh sis just by their single sequence to date, and the title of this I can sort of already ~envision~:

  • scratchy-scratchy guitar noise

  • rapid drums blasting in, first suffocated pig squeal

  • muffled sounds of unintelligible Engrish rap

  • very loud squeal, first breakdown, loud inhaling gasp and a kyopera howl going onto the chorus part, ten more seconds of howling, an abrupt breakdown and five seconds of silence followed with with slow tapping of grungy, distorted bassline

  • second pig squeal, another mumble-rap chorus

PV will have an abortion closeup (alternative ver. will have an aerial bomb dropping out of the p-ssay) and will be missing 45 seconds out of 2.45 long released song

But what if it actually turns out to be child prey 2

That’s a combination of things that’ve appeared in their singles since Sustain the Untruth but most of them haven’t appeared on more than one of them. You could list 100 more things just to basically say you expect it to sound like something Dir en grey would make and not like something Madonna would make - which we have Sukekiyo for. In terms of keeping it varied Dir en grey already sits at the top of bands and that’s just for singles which are already expected to be more accessible songs and thus less varied. So complaining about this aspect just feels like desperate pessimism.
Also Kyo has not rapped in English but I’m assuming you mean the style or something. Or the “Blessing to Lose Heart” part which is one of the less rappy parts of that song and very intelligible. And if you tell someone who is familiar with the core genres that Kyo does pig squeals they will be confused but I get what you were talking about.

Then I’m buying all the available stock from every shop they’re selling this. Sorry guys, all those pre-order bonuses are mine!

Wow, this thread deteriorated faster than my interest in this single.

Now if diru were to make consecutive singles

All the people complaining here are probably the same people who preorder the single at midnight :stuck_out_tongue:

I hope you know that this saved my day. Sometimes you just need to Dir en grey.

“The Devil” being “in me” is clearly referring to Kaoru and Kyo’s secret, debaucherous, love affair.

And I’m here for it

I love how mad and grumpy we become knowing absolute nothing about the single

Kyo threw that “I wonder what kind of song this will be like” like an grenade on us

Can’t wait for the first preview

.

it’s almost like there’s a reason i don’t hang out w. that type of people omg

I’ll pen 100 potential things about the next single if I won’t get bored tho!!! everything to make the wait for the trademark 3 second snippet less excruciating

Count me in on this, Child Prey is one of my favorite singles of theirs, I would buy everything they sold if they released a 2.0 of it
