I had them, only threw out the bed though. Turned out they were inside of it right from the furniture store. Now I have another problem - cockroaches. They came from an empty apartment upstairs.
Bro for cockroaches, go get some boric acid (i just get it from a pharmacy here, dunno where to get in other countries) and sprinkle it all around the areas where the cockroaches might go (make little lines they have to cross). No need for any serious chemicals or sprays, all you need to do is sweep it up (and the corpses of the colony, if you can find it
) after about a week. That’s what worked for me in my shitty old apartment when traps didn’t do enough.
Dries those mfers up from the inside out, saved my sanity. Godspeed, comrade ![]()
Thank you, I’ll try that. Sprays didn’t really do much, those orange dudes are still showing up
Apologies if this is a known thing and I just haven’t scoured the forums enough to find info on it…
but JRO doesn’t work on my desktop anymore. It says my browser is probably out of date, but I’m using Firefox and Firefox says it’s up to date.
Anyone else?
I’ve been able to get it to work on both safari and chrome so maybe it’s a Firefox thing?
I’m using Firefox and I haven’t had any issues.
Here’s also using Firefox and it’s working.
@reminiscing2004 I am on Firefox, no issues here.
Today I realized this cultural shock thing, almost. Brazilians often learn to have no pride and be “humble” ie. bury their (our) heads. A brazilian person may belittle a thing they ACTUALLY LIKE to be like “oh, don’t mind me, it’s just what I like” or avoid being shamed for it if the other person doesn’t like it, and foreigners (particularly Western foreigners) can feel hurt over it because their culture values pride instead of shame.
Just read this conversation in which (supposedly) a Brazilian exchange student in a cover band told their (US American) friend something along the lines of “oh, it’s an unknown European band, not sure if you know The Cranberries?” and this person was offended as if the exchange student meant to belittle The Cranberries. And I know exactly why they said it like that and how many nuances were lost in translation. It would be perfectly reasonable to say that in Portuguese to a fellow Brazilian because 1) you’re supposed to be humble about your knowledge instead of boisterous, 2) The Cranberries were never CRAZY popular in Brazil? Linger was crazy popular but that was it? and if something isn’t CRAZY popular, expecting others to know it is rude or, at best, makes you sound like a freak, 3) “unknown” … the same word in Portuguese in that sentence might imply “lesser known” automatically. Unknown just sounds too harsh.
It’s funny to look at this foreign person’s narrative /reaction as a third party and go “oh … well” . But it makes me think of how much of what I mean is inadvertently lost, too.
It’s a bummer that the Bandai Namco licensing expired recently; I hope it’ll be resolved so my extended version of the “30 Minutes or Less” mixtape won’t be incomplete.
Firefox user here and it’s just fine for me. 102.0.1
Probably because of some browser extensions. Try opening JRO in incognito mode. If it works fine, try disabling suspicious browser extensions.
What OS are you using?
I would also try another browser and see if it’s Firefox or all of them.
Hmm the city I live in is empty because we are far from the sea (as much as it can, we are almost 1.5 million people here) and I can’t deside if there are more Chinese people than natives here in the neighborhood
It’s like invesion and the dudes who live here (em… we are “the drug neighborhood”) are just beating the poor people. It bothers me so much, but I can’t do anything for this. Plus the guys know me which is worse ._. (My Superman skills are just to hide in the bushes if they don’t smell like a pee…).
SUGIZO’s REBELLMUSIK program on Yokohama FM every Sunday is a revelation. What’s nice is they make an article for each episode and post the songs and what meaning they have for him and the gist of what he’s saying about them during the half hour broadcast.
Got my Switch a few days ago and woo boy am I addicted to that thing! Animal Crossing has eaten my soul and become my new life.
Forgot to post about the final results of my tattoo.
Shading was do-able until it lasted over 4 hours, the pain xD But my Kitsune mask turned out really well.
And as a first tattoo, I’m proud to say that I survived the 8 hours.
Summary

Spotted a Moi dix Mois album in the wild at a used book store. Funny thing is it’s a bootleg copy by Miya Records AND they’re charging $60 for it lol. Btw the hinge on the case is broken
There’s something special about used stores having surprises when browsing through their inventory; a few months ago, I found a copy of this Dir en grey DVD at a store half a mile from where I live. It was only $7.99 plus tax.
Somebody in that store knows a thing or two about how much VK-related items go for.
I would always hit up the big used bookstore (and cd/cassette/vinyl) around me growing up and found many a deal of Japanese odds-and-ends (including a lot of Gackt CDs for some reason.) Too bad the place is long gone along with many others. Really miss the smell of old books and staring at Prima video game guides the whole time.
That’s a good find! And at a great price too!
