the GazettE

Any preference regarding the colors (black on white is .jpg, the ones with transparent background are .png and I don’t know how that transparence will work on a phone).

The black on white one will be perfect! Thank you!

So it’s this one then.
You’re welcome.

White background with black Japanese characters on it. The main focus is 「ガゼット」 and above it's 大日本異端芸者

Do we have any idea how far along they are with recording whatever they’ve been working on? Would love to know if Reita will still be apart of this album

We don’t, but if I were to guess I’m assuming they already recorded all the songs and are currently working on the production. The album(?) is/was set to be released this year so they’ve most likely been working on it for quite a while already.

Reita will definitely be part of the album

I really hope he was able to complete his parts of the album.

No, there really only have been very few pictures here or there in a studio and very little mentions of being in the studio after a long time and stuff like that.

So actually even a new album is just speculation but it’s very likely considering MASS is out for almost full three years by now.

How far in the process they are… who knows. But I’m sure there’s material and they’ll include him in as many ways possible.

He will always be apart of them

they teased a new release on instagram in December last year. The album is a fact, but how far they were in the production cicle is the question

Have they really announced a new album?

In July they announced a new release for 2024, right on the day of the MASS tour final.

And at the end of December they announced this week’s release, the DVD of that tour final.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to imply there’s no album in the making, especially because according to their more or less common cycle for the past years it’s to be expected.

But I don’t remember them announcing an album explicitly.

Detaips werent announced but am pretty sure they did mention it was in the works. Somebody said there have even been pictures in the studio from the recording sessions so yeah, pretty sure its a thing.

Ruki did post pictures from the studio on insta. I remember that there was a traditionel instrument shown in the studio. Not sure if it was a Koto or something else. I remember because I was excited because the teaswr for their 2024 release has very much traditionel japan vibes, which on it’s own does not mean much… but with this post from Ruki I thought it might really means they doing something in that direction… god I wish I could just be exited for a potential album… but now even if it comes… bitter sweet…

I like to think theyll still put it out if it has Reitas recordings on it. Would be nice as a mark of respect to do so really.

On a side note watching the Liberty Six Guns dvd last night and man, somehow just makes seeing Reita perform feel more special. Dude is glowing on stage, real charismatic and just has great stage presence as well as some solid and great bass lines. + Seeing him at the end you can tell how much the whole thing really meant to him, basically the second he hits the last note he’s in tears. Imagining a Gazette without him isnt easy to do.

they don’t do it anymore. 9th and mess had a PV song dropping unannounced (they did website timer once, I think? with website just going down at the time X), and they would put up the album title + release date, if i remember this part correctly.

Basically they announced BLINDING HOPE by 2021.01.30 to be released on 03.10.
They also announced their new album to be released in May of that year. They announcement for the title and the exact date happened on 03.10 then.

And on 2017.11.01 they announced a new album for spring in 2018. As well with this they announced a lead song to be available on 2018.03.10.
By 2018.03.10 they then announced the release date and title for the album. But it being an album was announced half a year before it’s release.
(It’s easy not to remember every single detail, referring to the emphasis on “if” in your comment.

yes, thanks for providing the timeline… i completely forgot most of that.

I remember that BH dropped on their anniversary, but this year we got nothing at all, so I just assume it was all studio time for the band.

we all assume it’s an album because that’s how they release now, and they’re too old for tricks like consecutive 12 month one song releases.

and when I think of it, something like a concept video album would be out of their budget at this point, too.

I had to look that up again myself. I knew there was an announcement for one of the albums more than half a year before but I didn’t remember anything more than this specifically. But I’m curious and I’m pretty good with dates (and love dates) so looking up was a must for me anyway. xDD

Like I said, it’s very likely.
But technically they already did what they announced. They came out with a new release this week.
I’m not expecting a single or a mini album when it comes to releasing new songs by them but all they announced was a new release not new music. In theory it were possible they never planned anything else for this year. Not that I believe it’s the case. I’m just a very sceptical person and they’ve been going by what they said so that weren’t even not true, if things turned out like the theory.

they very likely have a contractual obligation with sony to release some amount of new albums while not necessarily having one for single releases, and video live/tour documentaries/PV collections and other stuff that gets created along with the music, so I’m personally here expecting a new music release… whatever shape it will ltake.

Forgive a sentimental question, but does anyone know if The GazettE ever sold or otherwise released footage from either of their shows in Dallas TX?

I went to both, but i’m cursed with a weak memory, and my recollection of both lives is just about a black hole. It’d be nice to be able to remind myself of what i saw - even if it’s from a camera that wasn’t mine!

I don’t think so.
Only thing ever had been the one from NY but I don’t think there’s been ever anything outside of those World Tour documentaries that included something from abroad. And there wasn’t any of these documentaries for the WT 2019.

If there’s anything though I also forgot about it.
