the GazettE

It’s not much, but there is like 5 minutes of Dallas footage on their “WORLD TOUR16 DOCUMENTARY DOGMATIC -TROIS-” DVD, including some behind-the-scenes stuff and short song snippets. You can sample it here on YT from around the 20-minute mark:

Ah, thanks. I mixed that up and thought it was about 2019.

Folks, i have gotta say: Beautiful Deformity is such a kick ass album. Division/Toxic are the dubstep albums, right? I have no idea why i lumped BD in that camp; this album RIPS.

I’m glad to hear I’m not alone in this! BD has to be my favorite among the last few GazettE albums for sure, a fun mix of old (cca. STACKED RUBBISH) and new styles imo. It’s definitely the one post-DIM album I can remember the most songs/hooks from, and I still enjoy listening to till this day.

Inside Beast is their most hype song ever

Beautiful Deformity definitely slaps. The second half of the album (imo) set the stage for Dogma and everything else that followed

Yeah, i started my day off with BD, now I’m listening to the discography on Spotify in Chronological order. It is SO refreshing to hear these tracks in brand new context; as in, im 33, i haven’t heard most of any thing after DIM, barring Dogma/NINTH in recent years. I’m very surprised at how cohesive these songs are. Ruki’s English is fucking atrocious though, still.

Edit: I gotta give credit where creditis due. @TheZigzagoon was right – Nakigahara is a fuckin’ jam. Having heard it in a new light, with a fresh set of ears, i can see your point, Zig. This song is absolutely breathtaking.

I love how the album begins with the more “party-ish” electronic-infused vibes and then gradually transforms into a more darker and moody atmosphere by the closing tracks. Feels like a true bridge between the DIVISION and DOGMA eras from this aspect (the latter of which I wasn’t aware at the time ofc, but looking back now it’s kinda neat).

It do be like that sometimes! I’ve found as I’ve gotten older my perspectives on music has changed! 10 years ago I did not give TOXIC, DIVISION or BD a very fair, critical review. I just didn’t like the change of direction that they had gone with (dubstep/EDM elements). I really like these albums these days though, they’re not my favourite, but I appreciate them in a completely different way!

I remember that album was a huge nothing burger for me. That one and MASS…which is why I pitted them against each other. Looks like the forum is telling me listen to BD again.

I’m just getting through Toxic, and its’ B-sides…and, are the guitars really out of tune on these tracks? Is it me?

When BD released I thought it was their weaker album. But gradually it grows on me

Your comment makes me feel like I should give it fairer shot. When it first came out, it was overshadowed by other releases I was into at the time, and I overlooked it thinking it wasn’t as good as DIM.

I’ve been listening through them since Reita died and finally giving TOXIC another chance. It’s not as bad as I once thought!

I remember “Redo” and “Last Heaven” being smack dab in the middle of Beautiful Deformity made it feel like a slog to me.

This but imo Redo is 100000 times better than Last Heaven, also on the BD tour final DVD, Ruki does this like yodel/scat (the singing kind not the gross kind😂) thing at the end and it’s cool!

I think we need a best sentimental/emotional song bracket vote

What do others think O_o

Nooooooooooooooooo :scream:

(The album vote is plain easy for me but how to pick in a sentimental/emotional context?)

That one is too easy, tbh.

One different song from each release that was sentimental or emotional? Id say the other additional rule would be that they they cant repeat in the other brackets. They can however be different emotional/sentimental songs from the same release.

God i suck at typing today

I doubt there’ll be any version I’d agree to. In terms of I know it will cost me a lot of emotions to go through it = tons of energy.
So I guess I’m not the right one to ask about it.
(Doesn’t mean don’t do it, that also wasn’t my intention for the previous comment, that was just my first reaction knowing what it will turn out to be for me.)
