Anything big happening from the band? Noticed a spike in the number of listeners in spotify.
So I’m tryna draw Ruki, and Yknow he has so many cool outfits and I have been scrolling for HOURS on Pinterest just to find a cool picture of Ruki to draw. I CANT. I literally can’t choose

I’ve ended up on a little treasure hunt with GazettE.
They’re the earliest I can pin for the flute-synth-type instrumental in LAST SONG off MASS. I got it on my music shuffle and thought it was familiar. Two years later it was transposed and used for the Jujutsu Kaisen opening SPECIALZ by King Gnu. I brought this up with my friend who listens to Kpop and the same little run is used in Drink it Up by Yuqi.
Ruki why?? I wanna know where it originates lol

In other thread it was tslked about how the members of L’arc~en~Ciel barle, talk to each other and DeG also hang out anymore. And it seems kinda normal after working together for so long.
But Gaze seem so diffrent. They are close to their 25th Anniversary and there were times when Aoi thought about leaving the band. But somehow they seem to be getting along pretty well still. Or is this just my wish full thinking?

They’ve certainly had their fair share of internal struggles. As I’m sure every band does. Was it Aoi and Uruha that fought each other that one time ?
It does make you wonder if these guys legit get on really well or if they just stay because its “either this or be a salary man”… Like the other day I watched the Dir, Gauze at Osaka Jo DVD and man the member chemistry was so different back then, they just looked so much like they were all enjoying being there and having a great time playing music TOGETHER, like messing with each other during songs and hugging it up and laughing and all that at the end… Now its rare they interact or laugh on stage at all. Haha. Guess they are all grumpy, tired old men now. Haha.

I’m pretty sure it’s their internal love hate relationship that bonds them tgt. A 22 yr old active band with no change in any member (except for Yune) or quitting rlly shows their level of attachment towards the band. They could have easily transfer themselves to other VK bands or set up their own music school but they’re still here. They’re probably just getting bored working with the same colleagues. But don’t bear to leave either.
Around 2013-14 I remember reading interviews where they said they were close to disbanding once and even stopped talking to Kai at that point, but they got over it at least enough to keep working together.
Although I can’t find anything about this anymore, thank you for becoming useless, google.

Yeah Ive heard about that as well. Got to kinda wonder what brought them back together if they were getting that tired of each other. Haha.
hey dumb question but the cover of Disorder - what is it? does anyone have any idea or familiarity w/ the imagery?
it looks religious to me but i can’t pin down which religion lol
i don’t necessarily have any solid question, but it’s the sorta thing i’d be curious to hear anyone’s thoughts on if they’ve any better idea of it than i do!

Looks like something Christian. The head that the skull is holding appears to be wearing a crown of thorns which Jesus was known for having been forced to wear.
The skull also has what looks to be a halo of light surrounding its head which is typically used to denounce some form of spirituality or enlightenment especially in classic paintings. This makes a lot of sense on the black/gold cover since the halo is gold.

Outside of those two things, I don’t see any other symbolism that I’m familiar with.

My other thought is maybe it’s a reference to John the Baptist’s beheading. After all, D’espairsRay used that imagery for their Sexual Beast mini and it was apparently released 2 years prior to disorder. It’s hard to tell on the Disorder cover if it’s a crown of thorns or just some headband or something. My reservation about this interpretation though is that there’s no platter and that was a significant detail in the beheading.
